So for Beijing, we had one thread dedicated for each day of competition, because otherwise, this thread would be crowded really quickly and it would be harder to find comments. Was your plan to have one giant mega thread for the games or did you have something else in mind? :mumble:

I think this thread can be used till the start of the games, and then day by day threads can be created.

Wasn't a Totallympian during the Beijing Olympics, and was unaware that there will be threads for specific days. I'm assuming you had this for the Paralympics too? Or since it gains less traction,  all discussion might have been condensed into one thread?

No, we just had one thread for the Paralympics since it didn't get a lot of traction. But for the Olympics, we would always get a lot of discussion in the past so for Beijing, we decided to create a thread for each day to keep things more organized. Each Olympic day thread was around 5-10 pages so that would've averaged out to around 120 pages of comments in total.

But I like what you've done with the thread so far so as intoronto mentioned, we could perhaps use this for pre-olympic news and announcements and other stuff.

Pretty disappointing 5th for our women's eights at the World Rowing Championships, but at least they qualified for Paris 2024. We sadly won't be eligible for Continental Qualifiers now.

From our coastline to our infrastructure, we offer a globally recognized stage with the ability to deliver authentic, well-executed experiences that benefit both visitors and our local community. Our focus is translating global interest into meaningful, well-managed experiences that means thinking not just about visibility, but about legacy.”   Well, Santa Monica can just fuck all the way off.  Besides the vaporous word salad in the quote, they were asked to host the Beach Volleyball tournament, but refused, saying (literally) that they should just free ride on all the other places that are hosting events and just reap the rewards of the increased tourism.
