And the Amstel Gold Race being held would be decided this week, but that's been postponed to next week and not looking that great.

Yeah, that’s France for you.  Now that they’ve got the great National Symbol of National Unity done, everyone back into their rabbit hutches.

Cross-posting this here - early snow in the Alps, seemingly this is also affecting the Alpine parts of the Giro route, and more is forecast.

Yeah, as soon as the dates and route were known, I don't think anyone expected to actually have every climb in the race :p It's the Giro, that's how it goes.

Stage one of the Binck Bank today!  20k to go.   Unique feature: a blizzard of quick sprints just before the stage end to break things up.

Ah, the Golden Kilometer kind of thing they have in the Belgium Tour? :p

Yeah, 3 sprint bonuses in 1km.

Jasper Philipsen of UAE gets it by half a wheel.  Lots of GC guys distanced by the crash, looks like a few season-enders as well.

Aaaaand that's it for the BinckBank Tour. Or it could be. The three stages in the Netherlands have been cancelled tonight, organizers are scrambling to see what to do now. An option is to have a time trial at the Zolder race track.

Bit of a weird decision specifically to cancel tomorrow's stage. Like a lot of people would show up on a rainy weekday for a time trial in Zeeland of all places. Anyhow, tomorrow is going to be a rest day after today's opening stage, whether or not the Tour will continue will be decided later.
