After a Men’s World Juniors campaign that was so disastrous that I didn’t even want to talk about it at all… (Easton McCowan I hope you never put a Team Canada jersey on ever again, and management that’s what you get for leaving so many big players off the roster) there’s more Hockey Canada embarrassment at the Women’s U18 Worlds :yikes::whistle::sleep::facepalm:

 

We’re tied with Slovakia, YES Slovakia… 2-2 after 2 periods. 45-5 in shots, but the team isn’t looking dangerous at all… 


Not gonna rag on them because they’re only kids but these girls need to wake up.

Fortunately they did in the 3rd. 6-2 final, even got the Slovak's goalie pulled.

      Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)

      Confirmation about the broadcasting rights.   If I'm reading it right, for most of Europe it will now be exclusive to Discovery/Eurosport or whatever brand they use.     For outside Europe, it's on YouTube.       Surely. Her first coach now works in russia (and grandma lives in russia according to Sereda). They were in contact and despite of full funding from  the girl decided to become the star of russian propaganda.  As I saw in X: "It took the Russians four years of war to find a relatively well-known sports personality to carry out such a propaganda operation."
