PWHL co top-scorer Hannah Miller, who represented China at Beijing 2022 and was born in Vancouver, submitted a request to play for Canada to the IIHF.
 

China apparently isn’t allowing naturalized players on their roster anymore, so this is her only option for playing at an international level.

Ann-Renee Desbiens suffered an injury in a game yesterday and had to leave early... :(

 

Tough blow for the women in the upcoming Worlds, who've already lost Emmerance Maschmeyer to injury as well. Goalies are gonna be questionable for this year.

Presumably Schroeder will be starting now? I don’t follow PWHL hockey, so I’m not sure which Canadian goalies are next up.

Rosters | 2025 IIHF World Championship - Canada - 2025 IIHF World Championship

 

Roster for the men's world championships should be finalized (barring 1 or 2 additions from eliminated NHL playoff teams).

 

By far the best team since 2015. Many players trying to make a case for the Olympic team next year. Crosby, MacKinnon (and probably Binnington) are the only locks.

Well, um, the men's tourneys always didn't really matter too much and it's not really something we can massively have big takeaways from. Lots of players turn down opportunities to play in this if they don't want to.

 

But still :facepalm:
