What's happening to him? Exhaustion? mental health issues? He's regressed and literally on trajectory to retire before he's even 23 lol.....

People underestimate just how much work the NCAA is.  Pretty common to see people putting up big numbers in May but fading by the middle of the Euro season.

and with another flop (Benati...he was running 46 secs dead as a under-18, he's still there...he hasn't improved in all of his junior and post-junior years ) I'm done with this thing...

back on Sunday for Larissa, the rest isn't worth the waste of time :pope:

I don't think there was that much to do this year, to be honest.

I remember seasons where everybody had to start every single weekend. Mykolas only threw in like three competitions before heading back to Lithuania.

If there is anyone that could complain this year, it would be the heptathletes: Enok, Juškevičiūtė (LTU), Blaževica, Bačianskaitė (LTU) and all four of them are looking fine. Juškevičiūtė and Bačianskaitė will start in the Lithuanian championships in two weeks, but they've been looking well in their recent starts.

Perhaps a case of overtraining a young talent, or perhaps he just reached his limits.

Every country has a huge amount of young prospects, which for one reason or another don't reach the heights that we learn to expect from them.

Yes, you can be happy for talented u18 athletes, but expecting them to dominate juniors and seniors is pretty much gambling, because we don't know what's going on in their lives and bodies to make conclusions on why something isn't working.

None of :GBR NCAA field eventers have made out of the Qs today, all way down on PB/SB.  :mumble:

Great battle between :FIN Vanninen and :NED Dokter in the heptathlon. Both can still take the win today! Vanninen used to be the strongest in this age group, but Dokter has really caught up and is working on a great heptathlon with 2 PBs already yesterday.

    • Yes, he is ones of the first supporters of Milei, owner of one of the most important stock market of Argentina (Bull market), he was peronist and for "unknown reasons" start to be libertarian.   Even being libertarian in my case, i have to admit that him is one of the dumbest of "Milei supporters" and a clown when  he is in TV, he made me feel  embarrassed in many occasions.   Camila Giorgi being with him is.......inconceivable.
    • Ya but the replacement is Pat Bondi, a choice that is only better in so far as Pat Bondi isn't credibly accused of having had sex with multiple underaged girls.   Also, you might recognize this name: Pete Hoekstra has been nominated to be the US ambasador to Canada.
    • Camila Giorgi has a new BF Ramiro Marra. Apparently he's some politician/journalist from Argentina. One of Milei's supporters dare I say? @LDOG@konig
    • Skeleton Tour moves on to Yanqing  this weekend.  Asian Cup races tomorrow, then the World Cup on Saturday, and then possibly more Asian Cup next weekend before everyone moves over to Altenberg for the start of the full Skeleton / Bobsleigh tour again.
    • 2-1.   But it's good to have a great champion in the squad. I've been waiting for this my whole life. I wish we had such stars in every sport.
    • But he beat Mouat, who seems to be almost unbeatable
    • Argentina has a really solid lineup, especially if they have prepared seriously for this event. Of course they don't have a champion like we do, but in this format it is enough to win 1 match to play the decisive doubles.
    • Today we must to beat Argentina. It looks like Sinner will have to win all the singles and doubles for us to defend the title. So far, the 2nd and 3rd favorites before the tournament have already been eliminated: Esp and USA.
