A quick YouTube search suggests in 1983 it was decided quite early indeed, like often is the case in the usual African 'up the pace higher and higher and wait for nobody to be left' races :p

 

Definitely wasn't a thrilling final with a decision in the last meters like today :d

:KEN Moraa with the gold in a new PB time of 1:56.03. Silver again for  :GBR Hodgkinson in 1:56.34, and bronze for :USA Mu in 1:56.61

Meanwhile it's :PAK vs :IND  with weapons, which is not normally a good thing, but luckily this time it's slightly friendlier :p

Just realized the 'otunekko' I've been hearing at the end of commercials on Eurosport all week is actually someone apparently saying "Outrun your echo" :yikes:
