Archery WAA Asian Championships 2019

Looks like my Myanmar and Nepal prediction fell through, instead it's Tajikistan with a surprise first place finish. Sri Lanka and Bhutan are up there along with the five favourites.

On the women's side, Bangladesh is the fifth seed, but will likely have to defeat at least one of India (currently suspended), Iran or Kazakhstan to qualify.

Women's event 4 countries in hunt.

:IND :UZB :KAZ :THA

All 4 in the hunt, however :IND Quota depends on world archery decision as federation is suspended. 3 archers from India are in the hunt.

Indians are in the QT so I guess they are eligible for quotas? But it's better to wait for the tournament, there are still a lot more countries "in the hunt" :p

India will be allowed to qualify to the Olympics.

Also there will be a separate event to determine the quotas so the performances here don't count.

I understand that there is a team qualification event left....... So if an individual qualifies here and then the country qualifies later .....what happens to the individual quota...... Isn't this very messy

The final qualification tournament will have an additional individual quota.

    • Exactly. Recent developments of the construction haven't been particularly encouraging, and while they'll probably get everything sorted just in time, a lot of North American fans have been quite vocal about every minor inconvenience.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
