Men's Football UEFA European Championship 2016

Recommended Posts

Team Slovakia updated.

Ján Kozák made the cut after yesterdays match in Germany, 4 players are removed from the list. young talents from the U21 squad Adam Zreľák (Slovan Bratislava) and Matúš Bero (Trenčín) also defencer Lukáš Tesák (Kairat Almaty) and midfielder Erik Sabo (PAOK Thessaloniki).

so it means we will have 3 goalkeepres, Matúš Kozáčik (Viktoria Plzen) ofc is the absolute uncontested number 1, his alternates will be the 2010 World Cup goalie Ján Mucha (Slovan Bratislava) and as number 3 Ján Novota of austrian Rapid Vienna.

8 defencers are selected. the basic defence formation is here with Peter Pekarík from Hertha Berlin in one and Tomáš Hubočan (Dinamo Moscow) or Dušan Švento (1FC Cologne) on the other side and in the middle also uncontested with the captain Martin Škrteľ (Liverpool) and Ján Ďurica (Lokomotiv Moscow). as substitutes were selected Norbet Gyomber (AS Roma), Milan Škriniar (Sampdoria) and Kornel Saláta (Slovan Bratislava).

The largets list is between the midfielders, Ján Kozák selected 9. Again with the basic line with 2 defensive Juraj Kucka (AC Milan) and Viktor Pečovský (Žilina) or Ján Greguš of the czech Jablonec, and 3 offensive players, Marek Hamšík (Napoli) in the middle leading our play and the fast guns on the both sides Vladimir Weiss (Al-Gharafa, Qatar) and Miroslav Stoch (Bursaspor) or Róbert Mak (PAOK Thessaloniki), as subs there Ondrej Duda from Legia Warsaw and Patrik Hrošovský (Viktoria Plzen).

and finally the forwards, only 3 classical forwards in the team, but it´s absolutely normal in our playing system, our forwards usually only help our midfielders in attack  so chosen were Michal Ďuriš who had an excellent season with the czechs of Viktoria Plzen, Adam Nemec of Willem II Tilburg and for me a big surprise Stanislav Šesták of hungarian Ferencvaros Budapest.

so, I can say once again what I´m saying for a while, this is most likely our best team for a long long time, even better than the one who reached the round of 16 in South Africa 2010. and the great thing is that they make an awesome group, we feel a amazing team spirit inside this team.

but once again as always everything will depend on Marek Hamšík shape...if he will be able to show his better level of play, we could fight for this so much desired qualification for the second round, which is our biggest dream.:fingers::)

Very sad news from Germany. No Reus!, Bellarabi, Rudy and Brandt at the european championships. Our team will be:

Neuer, Ter Stegen, Leno

Hummels, Höwedes, Boateng, Rüdiger, Mustafi, Hector, Can

Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Khedira, Özil, Kimmich, Weigl, Draxler, Podolski, Müller, Sane, Schürrle, Götze

Gomez

This is also very bad for our chances in Rio. Weigl, Kimmich, Rüdiger, Can, Draxler and Sane wouldve been very important for us.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.
