@phelps Uh, I need an explanation because :HUN Luana Márton became a World Champion at the age of 17 in an Olympic weight class

What. The. Fuck. This came out of nowhere. First ever Hungarian gold in a women's events at the Taekwondo Worlds. And we just had our first ever gold last year thanks to Omar Salim. Crazy stuff happening in Hungarian taekwondo, we didn't even have a single Olympic quota for 20 years and now we are winning gold medals at the WCh.

frankly, I have no explanation.

she just came out of nowhere and shocked the world.

however, it's clear that behind Salim, all the Hungarian team is working very hard and very well and now your athletes are all to be respected a lot more than before.

most likely, the current rules also feature the style of your atheltes very well, more than in the past.

by the way, Today might become the most successful day ever for :ITA at the World Champs.

we have all 3 of today's guys in the quarterfinals! :yikes:

and if Dell'Aquila was obviously expected at this stage, surely the 2 girls (D'Angelo and Smiraglia, who beat :KOR Lee Dabin in the previous fight) weren't.

hope Vito and at least one of the girls can make the podium. it would be awsome.

I'm still shocked!

the potentially most successful day in the history of the :ITA Taekwondo turned into a Waterloo, a Caporetto, a total disaster in the span of less than 20 mins  :hairpull:

now it's the day with the most regrets in the history of our Taekwondo

first, World and Olympic Champion, Vito Dell'Aquila, was literally destroyed, humiliated by an almost unknown man from :JOR

then, Natalia D'Angelo wasted the chance of her life against :NOR Nielsen and she did it in the worst way possible, doing nothing in the 2nd round after having won the first and misjudging the tied score, who gave life to the Norwegian, who went on winning the final stint (once again, thanks to a really bad attitude by our girl).

finally, Maristella Smiraglia couldn't repeat herself against :GBR McGowan after the wonderful bout vs :KOR Lee in the previous round.

but her only fault is being extremely unlucky with the draw, having always to face people ranked way better than her.

she still did more than expected reaching the quarterfinals.

it was a tough day but kind of expected all of our let's say not-so-good athletes were in action today and they all lost early. was expecting more from Hosseinpour though

and it got worse when I received the tomorrow draw. Soltani is already out at 49kg because of the Israel draw. :(

good for Matin to win the bronze yesterday, still it sucks the way he lost the SF, he could go further. but still it's a great result, he wasn't even supposed to be here, was a last minute replacement when two other guys (both in this weight) tested positive for doping.

Scoring in 2nd period in Jor vs Rus game is really weird :d

It was a terrible mistake. the center referee asked to remove 2pts from Russia but instead they removed 2pts from Jordan !!! and nobody noticed it

it should be 10-6 but they made it 8-8.

they should never changed their name from WTF to something else. that was a well deserved name
