Alpine Skiing FIS World Cup 2019 - 2020

:yikes: So not only they will not remove the Alpine Combined, but they will improve the amount of races in the calendar, already 4 AC races for W and 3 for M this season with one big change : The starting order in slalom, The winner of the DH/SG will start first in the slalom and not 30th like it was before !

Alpine Combined starting order
The new format of the Alpine Combined features a speed run first (preferably a Super-G, but also a Downhill possible), followed by a slalom run. The starting order of the slalom run will not be reversed anymore, which means that athletes will start in the same order as they are ranked in the speed run.
In the upcoming season, four Alpine Combined events will take place on the Women’s Tour in Val d’Isère, Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Crans Montana and La Thuile and three events on the Men’s Tour in Bormio, Wengen and Hinterstoder.

Glad they are keeping it alive, and intrigued to see the effect the format change will have.

But it kinda did. This seems like an excellent change though, making it at least look much more fair.

There are already too many slalom/GS/parallel races if compared to the number of downhills/SG during a season, so nothing wrong with giving speed skiers a bit of advantage in the alpine combined...

Wow, great to hear that they finally decided to fix combined rather than drop it. I love AC, tho the truth is that the races were favoring slalomists too much.

I am unashamed, at getting nothing done.

I feel this format is much more balanced.

I really love watching the AC in major events (not so much in world cups) so I am glad it is sticking around. It is good to have one race in the program of major events that rewards all-rounders.

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
