phelps 6,951 Posted February 23, 2020 Author #235 Share Posted February 23, 2020 (edited) in the men's team foil event, Hong Kong defeated South Korea in the quarterfinals, therefore they are mathematically qualified to the Olympic Games... South Korea now have to rely on the Russians not to earn too many points (QF's matchup RUS vs ITA is not over yet, but the Russians were 35-29 ahead after 7 assaults out of 9)... phelps 6,951 Posted February 23, 2020 Author #240 Share Posted February 23, 2020 and so, Russia beat Italy in the quarterfinals of the men's team foil event in Egypt, therefore they're still in contention for a spot in the top 4 overall, which would mean that Germany would qualify to the Olympics at the expense of the Koreans... however, to keep their dream alive, Russia need to win their semifinal match vs France and need to finish the day behind them (provided RUS make the final, as said)...
