This didn't age well, as expected :p

no, the strike is still on...

I only posted a short news/comment because today the games were in a favourable time of the day and I could watch them live...

but I won't call a single word of that post back...:finger:

it took 7 innings, but finally :TPE Chinese Taipei scored the go-ahead run against :VEN Venezuela, followed by the second and later in the 9th by a 3rd run...

so, they won 3-0 and did qualify for the main round together with :JPN Japan, who won 4-0 against :PUR Puertorico (all of the Japanese runs were scored in the 3rd inning)...

VEN and PUR will play tomorrow not to end up dead last in group B, meanwhile JPN and TPE will play a very important game, as the final score is going to be carried over in the Super-Round...

in Seoul, instead, after :CAN Canada's win over :CUB Cuba, :KOR the Host Nation didn't have any problem in their debut against :AUS Australia...5-0 for the Koreans the final score...

Tomorrow, :CUB Cuba and :AUS Australia will fight against each other to keep their hopes to fly to the Super-Round alive, meanwhile :KOR South Korea and :CAN Canada will play a game which most likely is going to determine the group winners and to be carried over in the next round...

:CUB beat :AUS 3-2 in 10 innings.

definitely not the mighty Cubans we used to see anymore...

however, most likely this result won't change Cuba's destiny in any case, as I don't see them beating this Korean team in Seoul tomorrow...:mumble:

easy task for :JPN Japan against :TPE Chinese Taipei...8-1 the final score in their favour...

a lot closer and more interesting, intead, the late game played in Seoul, where :KOR South Korea won 3-1 against :CAN Canada and basically earned their spot in the Super-Rouind (provided they're not thrashed out by the Cubans tomorrow and at the same time Canada give Australia a lesson)...

so far, we know already 4 of the 6 teams going to play the Super-Round: :MEX Mexico, :USA USA (with MEX carrying the win against the US guys over from the preliminary round), :JPN Japan and :TPE Chinese Taipei (with today's Japanese win against TPE also counting in the SR ranking)...

if tomorrow in group C everything goes according to plan, :KOR South Korea and :CAN Canada also qualify for the SR, which would lead to a direct match-up between KOR and TPE for the Asian Olympic Quota and to an interesting battle between MEX, CAN and USA for the American Olympic Quota...

    • Yes, he is ones of the first supporters of Milei, owner of one of the most important stock market of Argentina (Bull market), he was peronist and for "unknown reasons" start to be libertarian.   Even being libertarian in my case, i have to admit that him is one of the dumbest of "Milei supporters" and a clown when  he is in TV, he made me feel  embarrassed in many occasions.   Camila Giorgi being with him is.......inconceivable.
    • Ya but the replacement is Pat Bondi, a choice that is only better in so far as Pat Bondi isn't credibly accused of having had sex with multiple underaged girls.   Also, you might recognize this name: Pete Hoekstra has been nominated to be the US ambasador to Canada.
    • Camila Giorgi has a new BF Ramiro Marra. Apparently he's some politician/journalist from Argentina. One of Milei's supporters dare I say? @LDOG@konig
    • Skeleton Tour moves on to Yanqing  this weekend.  Asian Cup races tomorrow, then the World Cup on Saturday, and then possibly more Asian Cup next weekend before everyone moves over to Altenberg for the start of the full Skeleton / Bobsleigh tour again.
    • 2-1.   But it's good to have a great champion in the squad. I've been waiting for this my whole life. I wish we had such stars in every sport.
    • But he beat Mouat, who seems to be almost unbeatable
    • Argentina has a really solid lineup, especially if they have prepared seriously for this event. Of course they don't have a champion like we do, but in this format it is enough to win 1 match to play the decisive doubles.
    • Today we must to beat Argentina. It looks like Sinner will have to win all the singles and doubles for us to defend the title. So far, the 2nd and 3rd favorites before the tournament have already been eliminated: Esp and USA.
