back-to-back junior gold medals for Heathcock, who won last year representing :GER and now after switching to the :USA.

:ITA at least end up with a medal, but it wasn't a great day at all.

and it was our only medallist, :ITA Emanuele Nardella, who denied in the quarterfinal a historical medal to :NIG Evann Jean Abba Girault, beating him 15-14 in the most improbable of the assaults.

Tomorrow it's Sabre once again, but this time with the Cadets tournaments (where in the men's division the main favourite is still the usual suspect, :USA Colin Heathcock).

Really hurts ...

I don't even want to imagine how many olympic medals Germany will lose thanks to Jordan Stolz (speed skating), Coling Heathcock (fencing) and Kaii Winkler (swimming) not representing Germany.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Pretty good results in women's sabre for us, two fencers in Top8, 3 in Top16. Battai's 11th place is a bit of a disappointment because she's already capable of winning even gold on the senior level, but she got defeated by the world champion in the R16.

The future of men's sabre on the other hand doesn't look that good for us, it has been known for a few years now that we will likely experience a big drop in quality once Szilágyi and Szatmári retires.

    • Vast majority of Americans will disagree with you. That's all that counts. I dont see many differences in so called fascism between democrats and republicans. Both were bombing any country they picked, both were ruining systems they wanted to.  I prefer reds more because they are at least honest about it. Also, i dont like what this ultraliberalism brought to our whole Earth. Whoever opposes this level of insanity will have my vote.
    • YEC Semi-Finals are set:   Aryna Sabalenka vs Cori Gauff Barbora Krejcikova vs Zheng Qinwen   Krecikova beating Gauff in two sets means Iga Świątek was eliminated with 2-1 record. Sabalenka clinched Year-End #1 after winning the first two matches and Świątek not winning all three RR matches before already.

    • thats true. If anyone observes the US election map then he can see that Harris dominated in NorthEast states and the Eastern Coast, exactly where the big economic centres are based (New York, New Jersey, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco etc).   Also what i observe regarding politics in western europe is that Socialdemocratic/centre-left parties have become extremely pro-market and even neo-liberal and some traditional right parties have become euroscepticist and protectionist, exactly the opposite as it was in 70s-80s

    • Yeah, Trump is very pro-Olympics. I imagine he's pretty excited that he will get to open the games   Visas for some nations have always been tough and I do imagine some qualified individuals will fail to enter the United States (regardless who is President), but the IOC will likely sweep it under the rug.
    • This is reaching the climax now. If Khelif's lawyers take this to court then they have to believe they can win the case. If the case gets quietly dropped before it goes to court you can assume they have no confidence in winning
