Nah, no way. Senior Winter olympics is too much for the current economy, there is absolutely no sustainable plan to possibly host this.

What is the source of this?

Also, hosting olympics to win no medals would be too sad, so I hope it's just some wacky rumor :p it's not possible to make elite athletes from ground zero in just 8 years.

Calgary’s bid to host 2026 Olympic Winter Games will survive at least until November 13 plebiscite after City Councillors rejected a motion Wednesday to cancel plans and dissolve the bid corporation.  The vote to approve the end of the bid lost 8-7.

My god....i will be very satisfied with a YOG winter olympics......but this is TOO MUCH for our poor country.

Our candidacy for this has less credibility than Maradona saying that he is "clean" of drugs.

Take the money and invest it in sports. The politicians seem like they are on a high after Ba2018 lol.

And before you know it, the same thing happens as in Brazil: huge investments in the run-up to the Olympics, even big investments in winter sports despite them hosting the Summer Olympics, and once the Olympics are gone....investments drop to below zero :p
