I didn't watch the final live, but just looking at the scores, every men's team down considerably except China who climbed to silver. Good thing Canada performed in the qualification to get to Paris.

Not so strange, as in the final there are no scratch results. All three results count, so faults can not be compensated, unlike in qualifying when there are four athletes.

I have a question, in the past there were three Olympic quota places for the apparatus events, now there is only one for each?

 

I've been reading some conflicting things from Greek sources so I figure I'd ask here, Petrounias can still qualify even without gold because the Chinese aren't eligible for more quota places? I am not so sure and would appreciate some guidance here. Thank you.

Yeah, China already qualified a full team so they aren’t eligible for more quotas.

The Rings quota is between

 

 Eleftherios Petrounias 

 Nikita Simonov 

 Vincenz Hoeck 

 Artur Avetisyan 

 Vahagn Davtyan

 

Whoever finishes first between them will qualify. There will be 2 places available per apparatus through the Word Cup ranking next year (January to March)

China and Japan with A Teams here in W team event? Or are there some great athletes missing due to Asian Games???

Sadly some empty seats in the arena. I wonder if it would be full when Budapest would be a WCH host. Like it was in athletics WCH - a full stadium even without any Hungarian top athletes competing.
