I didn’t want to jinx anything, but I just arrived in Birmingham to cover The World Games 2022    It’s my first time attending a multi-sports games in-person, so hopefully it’s an enjoyable

Just tuned in for the powerlifting.   Surely this is not a serious sport? If you need 5 (!) officials standing around, protecting each athlete, then maybe just don't do it?

loses two medals due to anti-doping violations    Sveva Melillo  loses her gold medal in Muaythai (Women’s -54kg). Gold goes to Ashley Thiner , with Laura Burgos  upgraded to silver @mrv86.

Yeah, pétanque wasn’t doing it for me during the Mediterranean Games, but lyonnaise is certainly interesting.

Well, make that another silver, but a very nice medal nevertheless for the girl from the picturesque Komiža. :)

 

Is the proof in the pudding here? Are getting that fifth silver in beach handball? :p

Where can I watch a recording of the event? I only followed the scores.

Honestly these Games are almost a non-event for me. If you want to watch anything you have to search in multiple sources and once you find it, most of them are blocked in Brazil. So much restrictions that I gave up on Day 1.

You can rewind the stream on YouTube. There will probably be a replay on the Olympic Channel at some point as well.

 

I would have put them third personally, but still happy to see a South American NOC with gold in aerobics.

      It's an interesting question, Norway is certainly expanding their efforts into a number of new sports. So, that cannot help but to peal off a few more natural athletes. I know their training methods are kinda rocking the world in a number of summer endurance sports.  I can't really speak to they dynamics of their development program. Their men's nordic programs largely always seem to be ridiculously deep, overwhelmingly so the last decade or so.

Generally, until 2000, Norway was much weaker in women's biathlon and women`s cross-country skiing.       This suggestion  @Dnl  made some months ago has also been implemented.   In each club, I have added a "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" record which takes the content from the Qualification by Nation tracker of that NOC.   People who see it can not edit the content, but it will be automatically updated once @Matej will update the record, and if you notice any mistake feel free to report it to Matej or in the record itself.   Club's admins can now edit the name of the section into their own language or change the spelling, I have used "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" for all the clubs. To do so, go inside the section, then click on "Manage Club"-"Edit this database Record" and change the name of the section:     By the way, if you are not a club's admin but you would like to edit things inside the club just let me know and I will give you the rights to do so. There can be more "admins" inside the club with the rights to edit and organize the sections, and that's not a role that require time or commitment.   Let's try to make all the clubs active during MiCo and when the LA28 qualifications will start!
