Biathlon IBU World Championships 2023

Objectively Germany has the 4th or 5th best relay (Behind Norway, France, Sweden and maybe Italy), so a medal would be a surprise, but not a shock. Anything worse than 5th would be a bad result.

Herrmann seems to be in a good shape. I think not nominating Grotian was a huge error (Assuming that she would have been willing to compete), she might very well have overperformed in front of the home crowd.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Not bad at all from Remenova. One can't fairly expect her to hold a top-5 position in this field.

Yep, the goal is clearly avoid being lapped. Paja did the job very well, now it would be a real shame to throw it out of the window like that... plus, jeez let Kazár go that last leg, he asked for time off from his work from his boss to come help start the mixed team, so let him at least enjoy and race. :d

What's up with Kazar then? He has been racing this season, even more than last season, so it's not like he was totally retired :p

Huh, I thought Nedza-Kubiniec was a woman :d Does he have a sister (or wife)? I'm 99% sure there was a woman with that name competing in the Universiade, which I remember because the English commentator was constantly calling her Kubinieca or Kruberenic or Kruberenica, or anything else than Kubiniec :p

    • I think they incorrectly translated Ukrainian word "nahorody" - it is not a full synonym of "medal". Its cocrrect translation is "award". Meanwhile russian tennis playes switched for Potapova ->  Rakhimova ->
    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
