Noguchi now has the edge over Garnbret after the first Boulder (Janja actually hasn't finished her effort yet, but she's already done worse than the Japanese...

and Janja didn't top the first section, which means that she's already behind both Noguchi and Mori and she's exposed to be beaten also by a few more climbers (and this would kill of her chances to win the combined event gold, especially if Coxsey goes well here)...

very good effort by Coxsey...now she has it all in her hands...it's gonna be very difficult for Noguchi (and almost impossible for Garnbret) to overtake her in the overall ranking...

Wow, how can a major champion and experienced climber like Ondra make such a bad mistake?

2nd Top for Noguchi...and 1st for Garnbret, but she's still in her opponents' hands...

 

if Noguchi and, above all, Coxsey don't make any major mistake, it's a hopeless situation for the great Slovenian...

and also Nonaka goes to the Top of the second Boulder, so she provisionally puts herself ahead of her Japanese rivals Mori and Ito for the second Japanese spot at the Olympics...

and here comes the turnaround! Coxsey wasted a big chance by not topping the second Boulder...

now she's behind Noguchi and Garnbret in the Boulder section of the Combined event and all is going to get a lot more uncertain...
