 Probabile Ghisolfi Will have another chance in combined event. Top 20 is possible.

no, he's a Lead only specialist...he's gonna be outside the top 80 in the Speed qualifiers, which means he won't even be in the top 20 of the Combined ranking...

our real Combined specialist is Filip Schenk (4th at the YOG last year), but frankly I don't understand why our technical committee in practice didn't even give him a chance through the whole season...

if they don't get him ready for next year's qualification tournament, we're going to have no climbers in Tokyo...people like Ghisolfi, Bombardi, Piccolruaz or even Rogora are not good enough over the 3 disciplines (all the boys) or (Rogora) not yet ready for this level of competition (and who knows if she's ever gonna be a top player?)...

@phelps Or anyone else, could you perhaps provide me with the qualification results of the men's and women's boulder competitions? So to clarify: the qualifying results only, I still very much would like to watch the semi's and finals without knowing those results but am afraid looking on an official website or something would spoil that for me :p

in the first page of this thread you can find the list of the 20 qualified climbers (both genders) with no spoilers (they come in the following pages)...

but don't click on the link to the full results, because it's updated and you have also the top 20 positions as they finished the full event...if you want, I can copy & paste and send you a p.m. with the positions from 21st to the last (or you can wait and see those results at the end of the entire events)...

let me know...

Thanks! I'll check those lower positions when I finished watching the finals. Cool to see Seo in the boulder semis already after dominating lead this season as a what, 6-year old? :bowdown:

 Phhelps, i have done some counts. If Ghisolfi go up to one or two lead specialist, with 70 his count Will be around 21000 points.

Speed specialist Now are all over 4000. So, Only 5 of that can beat Ghisolfi. Sixt will go over 24000 (4000×6). Ghisolfi can gain one position against Choi( kor) or Kruder (slo)?

looking at his speed results in theprevious world cup stages, the only good lead/boulder specialist who's really worse than him is Alex Megos...

and he's close but always behind a few others...normally he's slower than all of his rivals...

I'd be surprised if he can stay in the top 20 of the Combined event here in Hachioji...and however, he has no chance to make the top 7 and qualify directly this week (not even the top 15, tbh)...

simply, he's a (Lead) specialist...he's not the man to count on for the Olympic Combined...and I don't understand why our federation has not worked seriously with the only guy who has the talent to achieve an historic qualification...
