Yes Vahine Fierro is from Tahiti, as Kauli Vaast for the men. Double motivation for them to qualify for the Olympic Games.

Kanoa Igarashi :JPN qualifies for Paris 2024, after Reo Inaba :JPN failed to advance from Repechage 11.

Now, Inaba is the fan number one of Igarashi. If he takes his quota through WSL, then it will be reallocated to Inaba.

 

Also, if Kanoa guarantees his spot in WSL, :JPN will automatically have three surfers at Olympics

Men

 

:JPN Kanoa Igarashi and :PER Lucca Mesinas are already in the Final (guaranteed top 4)

 

:MEX Alan Cleland, :PER Miguel Tudela, :FRA Kauli Vaast and :ESP Gonzalo Gutierrez are in the last Repechage Heat (top 2 advance to the Final, 3rd is ranked 5th, 4th is ranked 6th...Vaast and Gutierrez still fighting for the European Quota, all the surfers except for Igarashi are still fighting for the reallocated quota, as Africa missed out on theirs).

 

Women

 

:AUS Sally Fitzgibbons, :BRA Tatiana Weston-Webb, :FRA Johanne Defay and :FRA Vahinè Fierro are in the Main Round #7 (top 2 advance to the Final, 3rd & 4th to the Repechage Round #12, all are guaranteed top 6)

 

:CAN Erin Brooks and :AUS Sophie McCulloch are in the Repechage Round #12 (guaranteed top 6, waiting for the 3rd & 4th ranked in the Main Round #7, top 2 of the heat advance to the Final)

:FRA Defay with a solid 13.17 (7.17 + 6.00) so far in the women's Main Round #7

 

it will be hard to overtake her (:BRA Tati however has a good 7.77 as 1st score, just needs another decent one).

Kauli Vaast :FRA qualifies for the 2024 Olympics, despite him not advancing past Repechage 12, as he finished third ahead of Gutierrez.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though.
