No more women heats today, so let's sum up it

Africa - Sarah Baum and Zoe Steyn :RSA are the only eligible for quotas, they are in Repechage Round 4, and need at least advance to Repechage Round 6 to make top 30.

Asia - Shino Matsuda :JPN is the only one in Main Round. In the Repechage Rounds, there are two other :JPN:CHN surfers, and one athlete from :PHI.

Oceania - Paige Hareb :NZL is guaranteed on top 30. Saffi Vette :NZL is still alive, but if she doesn't advance, her compatriot will automatically take the quota

Europe - :GER:FRA (2x) athletes, while :POR and :NED have one each in Main Round. France also has a third surfer, but she is already qualified.

In Repechage Round :ESP:ITA (3x), :ISR:GBR (2x), :GER (1x). Bonvalot :POR is competing here too, but she is already qualified.

Surfer must be in Top 30 to gain quota? What if no?

It goes to the highest ranked athlete in this event not yet qualified

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
