so, we lost another piece of the puzzle even before the main draws started...this time it's Sofia Ciaraglia in the women's sabre (this girl is really disappointing...she has big talent, but once she's got to the senior ranks, she's never been able to deliver...:()...

and the other girls' draw is really awful...they all are in the same half of the draw and all of them will have to face very tough opponents already in the early rounds...it will be very difficult to see one of them in the top 8 (not even dreaming of a podium finish)...

on the men's side, our Foil specialists also have a difficult draw, especially the reigning world champion Foconi should face people like Cheremisinov in the round of 16 and Massialas or Le Pechoux in the quarterfinals...

moreover, Garozzo and Cassarà are set to face each other in the round of 16 (if they can make it through to that round)...only Avola has a couple of warm-up rounds before facing (on paper) Enzo Lefort as the first "big name" on his route...

Man, I just wish there was a full schedule somewhere :p

just open the main draws (look for the links I posted in the previous days/hours)...;)

and you have the detailed schedule of each assault (and on which piste it's set to happen)...

of course you have to follow round by round to know what happens after the first one...

p.s. the semifinals & finals session is scheduled for 6 p.m. CET (at least tomorrow)...

I was just playing around. I know that you’ve posted stuff. I just think it’s funny that people keep asking about the schedule, after you made it the first post in the topic.

And our best junior fencer (Botello) beat our former best fencer (Pliego), now competing for Uzbekistan, to advance to the main round. Mixed feelings :(

Again, none of our men could go to the final round :wall:

    • Apparently this season will be last one in Kamil Stoch career if his results wont be enough good for his standards.
    • Such a nice one for Colturi ! That was fun. It almost looked like a script with the cameras focusing on Colturi a couple of times before her first run and showcasing the potential of youngster and she didn't disappoint.      I hope Colturi skis for Albania forever. So much fun to cheer her with the Albanian flag.    I don't get it why everyone is being so critical of Colturi, you got no right to criticize a personal decision, as most European nations use imported athletes in many sports like wrestling and cheer them on like their.   Would you spend hours criticizing Frank Chamizo for switching to Italy rather than playing for Cuba?

    • It may also be that Ceccerelli saw that the conditions in the Italian youth teams were very poor and that is why she insisted on setting up her own team (the results of young Italian skiers unfortunately confirm this). A private team will always be better than a team with 10-12 skiers with max. 3-4 coaches, a one doctor and a physiotherapist. Colturi is the only skier in her team and she has several coaches, a masseur, a doctor etc. Of course, it costs money, but since the parents are famous and have money + Red Bull got involved. I don't understand why she can't start for Italy again? Red Bull should care more that Colturi starts in Cortina under the Italian flag than the Albanian one + Red Bull, as a brand, always has a bigger sales market in Italy with a population of 60 million than in small Albania. I hope that this can still be reversed by next year. For this we need talks between the federation + Colturi's parents + Red Bull + possibly the Italian Olympic Committee. Colturi may be a skier equal to Brignone or even better in the future. We can't lose her, so we have to do now!
    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
