no, I love being so lazy! :roflmao:

jokes aside, I couldn't start running even if I wanted...my left knee will never allow me to try and make any effort in that sense (I have a non-operated ACL...just have to be very conservative on that)

Hahaha, nothing wrong with being lazy

Ah yeah, then maybe not the best idea to go running.

I suffered with a knee too. I was happy to complete the couch to 5k programme by mostly running on grass

5k is my limit though. Any more and the knee swells!

Hats off to everyone who can complete a marathon!

Yeah, the knee is an issue for a lot of runners. Maybe swimming or cycling is a better alternative then.

I also lightly injured my knee a week before the marathon and they were also the first body part that starts to hurt. It's so insane that there are so many videos on YouTube of people trying to run a marathon without any training. Even if you have the stamina, your knees will hate you forever.

I trained/ran in distance races for a decade a more. I absolutely loved doing 5kms. I picked up one injury in ultimate frisbee, and was told I had to stop unless I wanted a knee replacement later in life :(

Well done, @Dennis, for running in Amsterdam.

I will only be running 21 km in Ljubljana this Sunday, marathon distance is beyond my limits.

Hats off to all runners.

Good luck! How's the course? Is it flat or more hilly? And do you have a time in mind that you want to run?

I was thinking about running marathons in different cities and I've never visited Ljubljana before, so perhaps a nice option for the upcoming years.

This story won't end anytime soon if their father keeps denying all allegations. I wonder what the impact of this situation will be on the results of the brothers in the upcoming years. They're still young, but I don't see them having a long career if this negativity keeps following them.

Yes, Ljubljana is quite flat, on half marathon course there are only 70 meters of incline, on full marathon a bit more.

It is very accessible and friendly run, this year there is new record, around 34 % of foreign runners will run, that is around 4000 out of close to 14.000 runners.

European Cross Country season starts this weekend with two good meets.

Belfast, Saturday - lots of age group races to really chew the place up before the big names start.

Another one of the unique United States ultra-marathons. Here’s an old explanation of it: https://www.si.com/more-sports/2019/12/04/big-dogs-backyard-ultra-marathon

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
