So is Olympic runner-up Olena Starikova :UKR.

Surprisingly so Emma Hinze only managed the 6th time of the qualifying round, not that it would take the favorite status away from her but the title is not awarded yet.

I think in the top 4 it's gonna be 3X GER vs FRA/GBR...:coffee:

I would give Van Riessen the edge over Grabosch.

Considering what a terrible year Katie Archibald has had, that was an epic performance to bring the GBR team through to the pursuit final

Good start for Cameron Meyer in his new role as a coach too.

@phelps Is the Italian women's pursuit team capable of improving between now and 2024?

I would guess the GBR team could change 3 of the 4 riders before Paris

I think GBR choose the wrong sprinter in this event

Sophie Capewell is ranked 8th in the world and is the top ranked Team GB rider so she absolutely deserves her place in the event.

Arguably we should have entered a second athlete - Emma Finucane who took the bronze medal in the Commonwealths - but have to assume that Britain didn't qualify 2 individual spots.

Don't see anyone stronger than Capewell or able to do better than her today in the British squad.

I'd be very disappointed if they don't improve a lot...all the girls are still young and Guazzini is going to be the new Ganna, I hope.

now we have at least 6/7 girls to choose from who could/should be the core of the team for the next 2/3 Olympic cycles.

the only risk is that our girls start thinking too much to the road races (they are already a very successful group also in that discipline).

    • It's an interesting question, Norway is certainly expanding their efforts into a number of new sports. So, that cannot help but to peal off a few more natural athletes. I know their training methods are kinda rocking the world in a number of summer endurance sports.  I can't really speak to they dynamics of their development program. Their men's nordic programs largely always seem to be ridiculously deep, overwhelmingly so the last decade or so.

    • But it seems to us that Norway wasn't as strong in Lillehammer 1994 as it was later? And not just in women's events. Generally, until 2000, Norway was much weaker in women's biathlon and women`s cross-country skiing. I remember in the 1990s, Italy's biggest rivals, Belmondo and di Centa, were Russia, when Norway somewhere further back and only in the classic style. Bente Martinsen- Skari, this is their first really strong girl in cross country, just about 2000, just like Liv Grete Skielbreid- Pioree in women`s biathlon at similar times.   Do you think, that is there any hope that thanks to the popularity of Haaland and football in general in Norway in recent years, winter sports such as biathlon or cross-country skiing will lose a little bit, becouse that?

    • This suggestion  @Dnl  made some months ago has also been implemented.   In each club, I have added a "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" record which takes the content from the Qualification by Nation tracker of that NOC.   People who see it can not edit the content, but it will be automatically updated once @Matej will update the record, and if you notice any mistake feel free to report it to Matej or in the record itself.   Club's admins can now edit the name of the section into their own language or change the spelling, I have used "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" for all the clubs. To do so, go inside the section, then click on "Manage Club"-"Edit this database Record" and change the name of the section:     By the way, if you are not a club's admin but you would like to edit things inside the club just let me know and I will give you the rights to do so. There can be more "admins" inside the club with the rights to edit and organize the sections, and that's not a role that require time or commitment.   Let's try to make all the clubs active during MiCo and when the LA28 qualifications will start!
