phelps 7,685 Posted December 16, 2022 #43 Share Posted December 16, 2022 just a couple of numbers... Karlos Nasar's C&J effort at 220kg in the -89kg is the highest measure of the tournament so far, equalled only by Nurudinov in a weight class 20kg heavier (-109kg). Lesman Paredes' 185kg Snatch in the -96kg class would give him at least 8kg advantage over any other lifter also in the heaviest categories and his 397kg total is the same as Nurudinov and way better than any other lifter in all the other weight classes. Antonino Pizzolato's total of 392kg in the -89kg at the last European Champs would have given him an easy gold in his weight category (and also the -102kg gold) and it would also be the 3rd highest total of the entire World tournament so far (only behind Paredes and Nurudinov). His private coach is at home, sick, so won't be able to join him. The federation wants one of their coaches to go with Kuworge, but Kuworge wants the son of his own coach to go with him as his coach, which the federation won't allow. Why are federations always so annoying - especially in sports which are tiny in the country - when it comes to athletes preferring a certain coach? at the end of the day he came all the way to Bogota to just register and lift nothing several athletes did the same for Olympic qualification purposes but you have to participate in 3 events (out of 5) to eligible ( didn't count two mandatory events in KSA and Thailand) isn't it cheaper to participate in two continental champs in your continent + Grand Prix in Qatar ? or maybe those federations are very rich and can afford sending someone to other side of the world in Colombia just for that reason
thepharoah 2,405 Posted December 16, 2022 #45 Share Posted December 16, 2022 WOW ! Lasha failed to lift 120kg and he's just tied with the Armenian Lalayan Varazdat with 215 kg and the Bahraini Gor Minasayan settled only for bronze with
