Working perfectly fine here.

There were a couple of downs in the last couple of days though. But we were not having downs since July, and there were no downs at all in August and September which were 2 very busy months on the forum :p

I have time to get to the site because it loads a long time. But after refreshing the browser the problem disappears. This is not a golden mean, but how it works does not change the course of action.

@bestmen Try to clear page cookies, as this will not help we will think what to do next.

By the way @Sindo did you think about creating a mobile application?

No, not yet. I think the website is pretty mobile-friendly right now, users are using it with their phones/tables with no problems reported.

This is not new, happened previously many times

The forum is very heavy to join

I think this is related to the downs we have had in the last couple of days. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

It's hard to find the golden mean for mobile browsing without having to create an application. If the forum is responsive then there should be no problems, but browsers also do their job.

The forum has been struggling for me too @bestmen, so at least it’s not an isolated problem. However, I think mine has to do with the new Safari update more than anything.

One thing I am noticing is that the Notifications list is loading incredibly slowly.

Yes, it is.

About the app - I'd like it too, mostly because of the push notifications (it works perfectly on PC, but not on mobile). Check out "The Royals Community" - it's an app to the other forum I read. It's not perfect (a few months ago the push notifications stopped working, but until then it was great, for example when I got a notification about a thread "Duchess of Cambridge in hospital" I knew it's time to turn on BBC or Sky News), but good enough for a forum like ours.

    • Let's not act as if these things never happen before. Serbia's cross-country skiing drama a week before the Olympic qualifying for Beijing ended: FIS | Cross-Country Results - Zlatibor (SRB) 2021/2022   Drndic with a DNF, despite being - on paper at least - the best athlete. She didn't just 'not finish', she stepped out barely 50 meters before the finish, because if finishing, the points for her competitor would have been better due to the way points are calculated. Ended up with lots and lots of yelling and screaming and fighting and cursing, DNS the next day and in the end Serbia sent none of them.   This is not a shit move by Canada, this is a fault of the system at most.
    • Yes agreed, resetting it would help make it more dramatic as no one would be running away with it. We could also set it that there is a small reward for ranking higher after each round… maybe they start the next round with a “head start” so they bring a few points into the next round? But starting from scratch each round might be cleaner
    • I like the concept a lot. My only worry would be that the nations doing the best individually would also end up at the top here as teams are only made up of pairs. Whereas in a bigger team it gives the nations not doing so well individually to have another chance if they are lucky enough to be placed in a good team. Any way we can balance it?
    • I thought about accumulating, but for higher drama it may be reset like in cycling track elimination races

    • Nice for them, but also kind of too bad they pick the exact same two as last time. Would have been nice to see Regina Martinez for example (although I'm not sure that would have been logistically possible, depending on how they're going to do the flag bearer thing in the first place).
