Also, that sounds pretty awesome. The skating to a Buddhist chant thing, not the idiotic "omg can't do that" reactions people would have on social media if this was a bigger event.

I was amazed, but apparently skating to the Purifying Mantra doesn't lead you to a clean program. :p

@Griff88 You’ll get an email from the IOC later today with details about the prize :yes

Should I be genuinely worried because there is no email whatsoever?

It wouldn’t be a big deal if Russia wasn’t so anti-Religious. It’s the shame thing the DPRK pair skates to the beetles.

Check Junk, Spam. No, it took them about a day to email @Vojthas, but only 3 hours to email me.

Day 6, The Slovak team is still waiting in vain for it´s first medal, but on this day 6 of the games, four young Slovak Ice hockey players got medals together with their teammates from their respective mixed teams.

Nikola Janeková with her team Black and Peter Repčík with his team Red lost their big Gold Medal games, but they will still return home with a silver (youth) Olympic medal.

The HC Košice goalie, Team Brown netminder Rastislav Eliáš and Zuzana Dobiašová with her team Blue won their last matches of the tournament and are enjoying Bronze medals.

Hard luck for Adam Sýkora and Ivana Látková who experienced the opposite emotions after losing the bronze medal games.

That would be pretty cool too. It's not a big deal, stop making big deals out of things that completely aren't :p

Thanks to the alpine skiing commentator, I learned a new English word :d

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straddle_(skiing)

I had never in my life heard that be called any different than the German word "Einfädler" :p

    • How wonderful!   I met the national rowing (and beach rowing) coach of EST/LTU/LAT on the way to ice hockey one day, who's Canadian by the way. I also flew home on the same flight as JC Schoonmaker's mom and friends, so we chatted for a bit.
    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
