6th place for Zwolinska is pretty good if she qualified to the final with the last time?

She had a very solid semifinal run, had also some luck with several big names struggling with the difficult track and that trap on the 12th gate, so she somehow managed to stay at that last qualifying spot until the end.

ABout the The Final itself, It was a bit nervous from everyone including herself, so hard to judge, it was quite "comedy-grotesque" final in W K1 overall, apart Funk everyone else made at least one enormous and mostly dumb mistake :p

Franklin :GBR

N. Fox :AUS

Bertoncelli :ITA

M. Satkova :CZE

Another day, another disappointment, Slovaks just can not deliver in Augsburg, that is a long long time working equation.

This time mainly our young big talent Panková had to experience it, after great qualifiers in both categories, was really unlucky in both semifinals, today´s one mistake was so frustrating and too costly in otherwise a brilliant run from her..

Good news for Slovak Canoeing Slalom is the Olympic qualifiers WCH are the next year´s one and will not be in Augsburg :p

qualification shouldn't really be a problem for you...even in a place like Augsburg...;)

on the Italian side, no comment on yesterday's missed gate by Horn (even if I think she was going to end up 4th without mistakes)...

pity for Borghi...I expected her to make some noise among the big names...

Germans as expected completely dominated the competitions.

The Home advantage in this sport is well-known, but Augsburg wasser once again upgraded this equation to an absolute another level.

Not good Champs for Slovakia, Slafkovský retaining his world silver medal from last year and at some extant the unlucky 4th place of Jakub Grigar and 5th of Matej Beňuš were our only positive things in Germany.

The negatives sadly prevailed with Mirgorodský complete flop in the qualifiers and no female in the K1 nor C1 finals, especially the semifinal elimination of this year European Champion and World U23 champion Mintálová who was in great form is still hard to digest...

    • The problem of the Italian federation is that her system doesn`t work and we can`t afford to lose talents like Colturi. Our slalom does not exist, whether among women or men. We are currently at a level under that Croatia in women and Bulgaria in the men's category. There is no progress, in fact there is regression, because while Vinatzer often didn`t finish a few years ago, when he did finish he was able to be in the top. Now he either doesn`t finish or is around 20th place, like now. In the women's category the peak of our abilities is Peterlini, who regularly placed around 20th place in the World Cup... If we can`t afford to invest more than Albania and that with the Winter Olympics in a year, then I think we can really dissolve our ski sector and focus on something else. If the federation is satisfied with such low levels, let them continue

    • @Antooo any chance that you will be able to prepare 2026 olympics schedule in Excel/PDF file like you did for 2024??? It should be easier now, much less events to do. And no hurry at all, we have 15 months to go...

    • IMO the Italian federation was right in not giving to that financial and political blackmail - had they accepted it, plenty of more established athletes in snow sports could have asked for more under the threat of changing nationality. It's not like they had a sports almanac from the future saying that that 15yo girl would have won 5 olympic gold medals and 5 overall world cups.
    • Allez  He tried to pull this one lots of time and finally managed to go all the way.
    • Nonsense. Chamizo moved to Italy, married an Italian, he's still here after many years and was essentially banned from competing for Cuba. Colturi's tie to Albania is that the Albanian federation had invested a ton of money in her mother's business (élite and very costly academy for young skiers), and then gave her a role, and probably another big salary, as a director in exchange for the pomise of their first winter Olympic medal. A better comparison is to that archer who competed for Ivory Coast because her father had a big clothing business in the country.
    • I guess Stoch will retire in the end of 2025/2026 season.
