@heywoodu if You don't mind, please tell us, how is Bruna Moura doing?

Greetings

Training a lot, with rollerskiing, running, strength training and nowadays also kickboxing :d

The physical and mental effects are definitely still there, and both are being worked on hard (intensive EMDR therapy sessions are...well, hard, but they are helping, she's pretty open about it on Instagram for those interested btw :)). It's of course not a 'regular injury', the broken bones were the smallest problem and it's a matter of waiting to see if the pain in the foot will ever really go away (it's a real possibility that it'll stay forever).

All in all: she's able to train on a daily basis and improving a lot, so that's good, and she has plans for this winter in terms of competitions (the world championships mainly) and a training camp on snow. It's all very far from over though, the road to recovery is built on hard work, a lot of help, but also a lot of frustration.

Makes you kind of see the behind-the-scenes part of athletes who sustain a long-term injury, and publicly are of course generally positive about it ("I'm working hard, it's going well, looking forward to being back"), but privately they too must be facing tons and tons and tons of doubts and frustrations...

I don't know if this sounds positive or negative, because I'm not sure if it should sound positive or negative :p It's been a year filled to the brim with very mixed feelings both ways, let's say it that way.

For those interested, a colleague and friend of our Olympic Totallympian has started a crowd funding action to help her get to the Olympics in 2026, which resulted in an interview with one of the larger newspapers, a fairly large semi-regional TV/online news channel, and a few other things :p

The story and a link with a bit more background can be found in this post:

Oh and here is one of those interviews, where all her part is in English :p

There's another one coming this week, but she's going to try and do that one in Dutch :d

The first ever Indian Winter Olympic medal is close!

Journey towards Winter Olympic medal for India in Skiing at 2026 Milan Cortina, Italy.

Among other things, she won gold and three bronze medals in the Khelo India Winter Games, and she competed in the FIS races in Iceland! Under 300 points is not bad at all, to be fair, although I have a feeling that a medal in 2026 might be a tad optimistic.

Yesterday, it was exactly one year after Bruna officially qualified for the Olympics with the last race in the qualifying period:

And yesterday, exactly one year later, she got the green light from the doctor to compete in next month's world championships :cheer::cry::cheer::woohoo:

Doctor just needs to send the letter, which should be today, and she's good to go! #roadtocortina2026

@phelps You probably know this: the Norwegian championship races in Vind today, which are shown on NRK, are probably not possible to be viewed from outside of Norway, correct?

For Swedish TV, setting the VPN to Sweden works, but for NRK, setting VPN to Norway only results in a message stating you can't use a VPN, and without the VPN, you need to log in with proof of residency in Norway :p

Any workaround?
