Somehow both of them are not good enough to win WD titles and always have early round exit come tournament time. It is worrying right?

Yes, you are right. Therefore, the Chinese team's winter training this year is longer than ever, especially in the doubles group. Since the Olympics qualification race have not yet started, the main players have given up the low-level events and put all their energy into the training, waiting for the necessary competition.

Will China be willing to forgo their WD medal come olympic time just like in Rio no WD medals won?

That is impossible. When Zhang Jun was elected president of the China Badminton Association, he said that the Chinese badminton team must compete for gold medals in five individual events.

Yes, you are right. But China can only do this now, and those athletes who leave China are far worse than them.

    • They've completely revamped the onscreen graphics - bit hard to tell how it will all work because for the semis they were concentrating on the middle of the race where the Line of Doom was.  And they broke down on the fourth shoot  so nothing new there.     But when they DO work, Eurovision style, you do get a real-time idea of changing overall position, which was always hard before.
