Surprised to read she is still active
Monzanator 3,598 Posted May 23, 2022 #23 Share Posted May 23, 2022 @hckošiceSlovakian derby going into the third set. Kucova served to win in two but lost in TB. 2 hours & 20 minutes for two sets. Should be over three hours unless someone runs out of gas next. hckošice
Monzanator 3,598 Posted May 24, 2022 #24 Share Posted May 24, 2022 Kucova did run out of gas and AKS won the decider 6-2. Match lasted 2h 57 minutes which is the second longest women's MD match so far (Azarenka vs Bogdan was 2h 58).

Federer91 2,140 Posted May 24, 2022 #26 Share Posted May 24, 2022 Jo-Willie Tsonga played his final match and had a very emotional ceremony afterwards. The French really did a good job in making this a proper send-off to one of their best in the new century. He has never been one, that i was fond of in his best years, but i have to admit the tribute video they showed got me a bit choked up. Almost all of that second tier of players that supplemented the Big 3 (or 4, if you'd like) for close to a decade are now retired. Nalbandian, Davydenko, Soderling in the beginning and then Tsonga, Berdych, Ferrer, Del Potro and Wawrinka in the second wave. Only one left is Stan the Man, but for how long. JoshMartini007 2,214 Posted May 24, 2022 #27 Share Posted May 24, 2022 It's still impressive how three men dominated singles for so long. We've had 74 grand slam tournaments since Federer won his first (2003 Wimbledon) and the breakdown is... Nadal - 21 Djokovic - 20 Federer - 20 Everyone else - 13 between 9 players In the everyone else category, three of them happened during the first two years (2003-2005) and two happened in the last two years. Makes you think what could have been had the three not existed. Would Murray or Wawrinka have won double digit grand slams or would the winners been as varied as the women's (minus Serena Williams) dcro
