By the way, I wonder how this ban works. I mean, who is going to physically stop them from entering the start area if IBU rules have no problem with them?

There is a limit of competitors from one country that can participate so Slovak federation only need to give coach instructions who he can or can not put on the start. I don't know what is the limit for Slovak women but it's not 9, that's for sure.

I forgot about the team captain's meeting :p Of course if the coach doesn't enter them in the start list procedure during the TCM, it's a no-go anyway.

No worries :d

But in fact recognizing males and females in slovakia/czech rep. is the most easier thing in the world, you just have to watch their surnames :d

women´s receive their father's surname at birth and take their husband's name when they marry. However, the names are not exactly the same; the endings differ to fit into the czech/slovak language's systems of gender adjectives.

This means when you see any surname finishing with ová or á it´s a woman. :d

quick lesson:

if men´s surname finish by his wife, daughters, sisters (until they marry) will have surname finished by

example:

male´s surname is Novotný his wife or daughter became Novotná

male´s surname is Kaliský, Suchý, Rychlý, Hrubý etc... their wifes, daughters surnames became Kaliská, Suchá, Rychlá, Hrubá...

in all other cases the females surname finish by -ová. (if the surname finish by a vowel - not ý - you just have to remove it before adding the -ová)

example:

male´s surname is Cibulka - wife, daughters are Cibulková

male´s surname is Fialka - wife, daughters are Fialková

Zuzula - Zuzulová

Vlha - Vlhová

if the male´s surname finish by consonant, it´s even easier, for womens surname you just add ová, without making any changes

Poliak - Poliaková, Hantuch - Hantuchová, Dukát - Dukátová, Schmiedl - Schmiedlová, Sagan - Saganová etc...

:d

Brazil against a Russian team with Shipulin in the IBU Cup....I know a Brazilian who is gonna be very happy with that since Shipulin is like one of her heroes :d

Your Brazilian friend has to wait a bit before she can compete against Shipulin.

That's alright. Brazil won't be in Idre (IBU Cup 1) anyway and start their season in Ridnaun, the week before Obertilliach. Also, Obertilliach

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
