Slalom Canoeing Qualification for Summer Olympic Games 2016

Recommended Posts

Gold and Silver for Slovakia in C1 but what is funny. Slafkovský is european champion, he finished 3rd in our internal qualification and Michal Martikán is european vice champion he finished second in our internal qualifiers, but the man who qualified for Rio Matej Beňuš ended as our only racer out of the podium today...5th, but he was unlucky in the last part of the track, but yes in other hand the good thing is that he is peaking this year his form especially for Rio..so ok for now.-

Michal Martikán won today his 43rd medal from major competition :d 21st year in a row he won a medal  from OG, WCH or ECH.

Looks like we share this disaster. We also don't make Rio after competing at every Olympics since 1992 in slalom.

Hopefully we will share in some success next time buddy rather than disaster.

so it looks for a change of generations in K1 in Rio, because after ITA, SVK, FRA also the czechs will have a new athlete. Jiří Prskavec will represent Czech Republic in K1.

not entirely sure but I think also Poland will have a new name. Maciej Okreglak probably (if I´m not mistaken) won their internal qualifiers ahead of more experienced Mateusz Polaczyk and Dariusz Popiela

Apparently what the Dutch guy Hermans has to do isn't necessarily finish in the top-12 of a World Cup twice, but finish in the top-12 of the "cleaned" result twice: meaning only one competitor per nation. As an extreme example, this would count as a 5th place for Hermans:

1. SVK

2. SVK

3. SVK

4. FRA

5. FRA

6. FRA

7. GER

8. GER

9. GER

10. ITA

11. ITA

12. ITA

13. Hermans (NED)
