I like that the BIG favourite has started his CJ, yet there are still a total of 8 (!) lifters who have at least one attempt

That was exciting! Maybe Fernando was a bit "conservative" in snatch... I mean, he equaled his Pan American record, so conservative is not a very good word, but why not trying to break it? 201 kg should have been his second attempt and 204 kg his third attempt. But I'm okay with the results. We can't expect much from him. It's nice to watch this sport, I have to admit.

Albegov can still try and get a total medal (if Seim doesn't make this and Albegov gets 251), don't turn it off yet

Fernando finished fourth, which is great. Maybe in a few years he will be awarded a medal.

as expected Talakhadze ate everybody alive

 

but Salimi and Alihosseini won gold and silver in Jakarta with 461 and 456, they could be silver and bronze here. that's a shame they both decided to not participate here that was stupid for Salimi to retire right now 2 months BEFORE the World Championships. no surprise though he proved to be stupid before.

 

but I hope Alihosseini comes back soon. he is easily 2nd best in the world behind Talakhadze
