Lol, thanks those results in just finished European Championships Mateusz Polaczyk, who is two time silver medalist from World Championships probably will not fly to Rio :facepalm:because he now is on second place in internal qualifications, first is Maciej Okręglak...

Our internal qualifications will over in two weeks at Bratislava Open, in K-1 it's still fight between Polaczyk and Okręglak who have 8 and 6 points respectively. Polaczyk need be better than Okręglak in this event and other our canoer should be better than Okręglak that Polaczyk could fly to Rio. It's all because Mateusz missing final in last week EC and not get any points. In C-2 Piotr Szczepański with Marcin Pochwała and brothers Brzeziński are in similary situation as in K-1. In women's K-1 Natalia Pacierpnik and in C-1 Grzegorz Hedwig are officialy qualified.

ah ok. well, Bratislava track should be good for Polaczyk, as I know he trained there much more than any other pole. The Poland team usually have preparation camps and long training session in Liptovský Mikuláš, so thats also maybe the reason why Okreglak was better there

    • There is a transgender volleyball player here in Brazil; there was even a recent controversy (this year) when a city banned her from playing in a certain competition, which ended up in court, ultimately in her favor.   But the situation is much simpler than that; the reason for this decision is because of the two female boxers who won at Paris 2024 (who apparently are not transgender).

    • there were rumors about it for quite a while, but as I wrote, it was never confirmed so, it might well be just some haters throwing out some shit on her 🤷
    • Where did you get that?   I'm not sure I would have considered her to have dissapeared from out of nowhere, at least since after Tokyo... she did win medals at the next two World Championships. I think it's just recently, she's been struggling with injury which is why she's completely out of form...
    • Even though I'm not the biggest fan of her, always sucks to see a career ending through injury and not on your own terms
    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.
