We also saw a decrease from 2018 to 2022. More than likely numbers will dip

It really sucks too, since we’re finally seeing some non-traditional NOCs put some earnest investment into the sliding and skating sports/disciplines.

I do wonder how long that will last if they don’t see some return on investment?

Thailand this cycle has been impressive. Alpine, cross country, luge, skeleton, bobsleigh and short track. Possible quota in freestyle.

I was going to post something about them tomorrow. It shows you what an honest investment into winter sports can achieve though (at least at the youth level).

:BRA might be able to enter a relay in cross country skiing should they accept a reallocation in both genders @heywoodu. They're the first NOC outside a reallocation slot on the men's side, but :BEL already rejected their original quota, so it seems unlikely they'll accept this one.

:ALG would have likely declined. Which leaves :MAD as the only one missing out

Slopestyle athletes can also compete in the half pipe, granted the maximum # per NOC has not been surpassed

Hopefully a couple decide to give it a go then, because those entry numbers are woeful.

    • It's hard to believe it was still in this calendar year
    • In last year, we were were happy with Brignone's wins, and today we're excite that della Mea is in the top 10... It's hard to imagine a bigger fall... And Goggia should give up on the giant slalom and focus on the speed events – Vonn isn't wasting time on the giant slalom, but is training for downhill and SG. Goggia last one finished on the podium in the giant slalom in march 2018, and she has no any chance of winning an Olympic medal at the regular competition. It's a waste of time and energy to finish 8th or 9th and risk injury. And we have to accept that without Brignone, we have no chance of winning a medal in the giant slalom in Cortina, and that's it.
    • yeah, just like Anna Trocker earlier Today   I think this is the best way to blow them    they're not ready for the world cup stage yet, but we're so bad right now that our coaches are digging deep
    • Some surprises and fun results so far at this year's Worlds. Like a few minutes ago, when  Harrysson made the 1/8 with another very good performance. Now he plays Jonny Clayton, who this afternoon made a stellar performance in a tough battle with Zonneveld. I don't see an easy match for Clayton, even though on paper he would have wished such an opponent for a 1/8 before the tournament.   Also i'm delighted that my fav Gary Anderson seems to be in good form, though at his age, he is prone to sudden bad matches at any time.
