@hckošice Slovakia always on fire!

Stefecekova was "only" 4th this time, but it was Varga to make the headlines, after defeating Josip Glasnovic at the shoot-off...

meanwhile, strange decisions were taken by the Italian coaches...:mumble:

Mauro De Filippis (men) dominated the field in the qualification stage and Alessia Iezzi was second among the girls, but they were both registered only as RPO, so they were both deprived of the chance to fight for the medals...

instead the eternal Giovanni Pellielo did qualify for the medal stage (and then failed, of course)...:yikes:

I really don't know how they can still waste time and resources letting him compete officially for our team instead of giving chances to the youngsters to compete together with the top shooters and/or putting on the team our best shooters themselves...:hairpull:

finally, an impressive stat...after the poor participation to the previous world cup stages (both shotgun and rifle+pistol events), this time we had 176 starters in the men's Trap and 78 starters in the women's Trap...:evil:

once again, being perfect (125/125) in quali proved to be a real curse in the medal stages of the competition...

this time it was :CHI Francisca Crovetto Chadid to shoot the perfect score in the preliminary round and then missing out on the medal match...

now let's see if :USA Vinnie Hancock and/or :ITA Luigi Lodde, who were both perfect in the men's qualification round, can overturn that curse...

so, also this world cup stage is over...

The USA won the most gold medals (3), but at least this time Italy was a presence also in the truly important events (the Olympic competitions)...

remarkable fact, it looks that this world cup stage was a record breaking event in terms of audience watching the live streaming on Youtube...

next world cup stop is in Baku (AZE), where all the disciplines (shotgun, rifle and pistol) will be on stage all together from May 27th through June 7th...

    • 1st and 2nd place in women's epee + 2nd and 3rd place in men's epee. Importantly, for men they are very young guys. Unfortunately, Federico Vismara ended his career at the age of 27, just like Marco Fichera did a few years ago at a similar age. This is a bit of a problem, because these were fencers at the ideal age for this competition: 27-28. It's a shame to lose such people, but it's important that there are young people behind them.
