Today's final climb is pure madness.

A new climb for the Vuelta, and see those averages....those are including a few short pieces of flat and even a short downhill at the start of the last kilometer. There are parts of 20% everywhere and in the last kilometer there is a part of....32% RIP peloton

Apparently Louis Meintjes went down a little ravine (he climbed out himself, luckily). That must mean someone else went down there too, because no way Meintjes was not following someone's wheel for a second :yikes:

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
