I hear rumours of a medical problem causing strange readings in his biological passport

Decathlete Thomas van der Plaetsen had strange antidoping results after a medical problem...turned out he had cancer. I'm sure you know of course, but just throwing it in there as an example (he was talking about it quite openly last week on the Belgian Tour de France talk show).

Yes I hear this rumor about a serious health problem as well, One of our most famous sports doctor mentioned something like this (again article in slovak https://sport.pravda.sk/ostatne-sporty/clanok/434889-doktor-malovic-o-matejovi-tothovi-predpokladam-ze-ide-skor-o-chorobu/.) If it will be true, This very likely will be also the end of his career.

But well, everything is still possible, we must wait until the end of the investigations.

Well he is riding for one of the most suspicious teams of all, but I doubt there's anything concrete :p

Oh, oh, that one could be fun :

Djokovic serving a silent ban ? (french)

That is not comming from a random blog btw, but from the major sports network in Québec. The journalist states that she heard from multiples sources that the reason why Djokovic ended its season is because he is serving the infamous so called 'silent ban'.

And while I'm at it, I can't enough recommend for anyone here to have a look at the new Icarus documentary (that is available on Netflix... and elsewhere). Fasinating and terrifying stuff.

I'm using Google Translate so I could be wrong, but doesn't it also suggest Djokovic' lesser physical capabilities of the past year or so could be because of being caught? That'd be strange, because then why is he still playing instead of being out for a year entirely?

    • How wonderful!   I met the national rowing (and beach rowing) coach of EST/LTU/LAT on the way to ice hockey one day, who's Canadian by the way. I also flew home on the same flight as JC Schoonmaker's mom and friends, so we chatted for a bit.
    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
