Well, his shooting is just too inconsistent. Could end up with 5/10 or something tomorrow (like he did last week).

Correct.

Meanwhile, from which hole did Matej Kazar crawl out of to shoot 10/10 today? :surprise: Is he trying to steal someone's spot in the Slovak relay? @hckošice

haha, no way. he ended his career a few years ago. Basically, he is just a kind of a hobby athlete.:p He now has a job as a member of the coaching team. He go cross-country skiing here and there just for fun and keep his weight during free time. He was basically forced to compete here only because we had plenty of so-called free "home team" quotas.

He is definitely not even dreaming about Beijing :d

Nice win for Claude.  With the Pursuit cancelled, this is the last race prior to the European Open Championship for the men.  It looks like there will be very few big names at the EOC due to the close proximity of the Olympic Games, and the desire to be at altitude.

As an aside, when was the last time the Norwegians shot this poorly:

One more thing, congrats to George Buta from Romania, he had a great shooting weekend, and did not miss a shot in the weeks races.  He actually has had a very solid season.

22nd Matej Kazár despite a crash in the last lap. What a story seriously. 2 seasons Retired, nowadays coach assistant who did not compte more than 2 years in this sport, Literally humiliated all other SVK entries today

I did not want to bring that up :), but the US had a situation like that back in the early 1970s.  One of the early, think early 1960s biathletes who had retired and who owned a sporting goods store, showed up at the trials simply to see old friends and have fun.  He ended up qualifying for the World Championships.

    • The only ones complaining about the short track refs are Italians, imo. Not even on this forum, but in general, from what I've been seeing on live chats and other social media sites. That says a lot to be honest. I suspect it's partially due to them not performing to the high standard they're expected to perform at especially at the Olympics. The refs make a lot of mistakes for everyone, there's no bias against or towards anyone    Plus, Italy have won 6 medals already.... the most you've won at a Worlds since 2016.
    • For me they gave Canada the gold in the relay in exchange for a 1000-meter dsq gold for Dandjinou, that's how I see it. It was a battle between Kor and Can on 2 of this case. It's hard to say why that last dsq for Kor was in relay? Of course, Italy win bronze thanks for that, but that's not really important. It would have been better if the referees had just stayed out of the results and left it as it was decided for fight on the ice.

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
