Qualifying in Nizny Tagil has started. Fatih Arda Ipcioglu has qualified as the first Turkish ski jumper to the main competition. He's been trying to do this since 2017 and spend majority of last few seasons on the Continental Cup.

Curious what the best Turkish result is in any winter sports WC.

Well they have in figure skating an ice dacing pair good enough for top 20 at the Olympic games.

 

Domen Prevc and Timi Zajc , Stefan Kraft , Klemens Muranka  are out in the qualifying round instead Fatih Arda Ipcioglu  and Andrei Feldorean  will compete tomorrow in the first round. Good to see new countries with decent results in this sport.

They get plenty snow. I remember at a Universiade a few years back the nordic skiers were practically skiing through half-pipes at various places.

Let's hope they can have some stable finances as well, as to make a regular season and not just pop in some rounds here and there.

Love seeing lots of snow for the WC opener.  Different than the Wisla and Klingenthal openers we had in the last couple of seasons.
