Hi all,

 

Do you know when will be the next prediction contest?

Hey Totalympians 

 

Sorry for the long wait and no reply to your questions about prediction contests. 

 

The reason for the silence from my side has to due with the fact that me and my wife got our daughter in the beginning of December, so my time has been limited to other activities in the recent period. 

 

Due to this big change in me and my wife's life, I will not be able to do Prediction contests for a while. So I will step down as prediction contest manager and I hope one or more of you will take my place and continue doing prediction contests on the forum. 

 

Otherwise, I can recommend what @rafalgorka is doing with Prediction polls as a good alternative. 

 

I hope you all will understand my decision for stepping down as I do want to focus most of my time on my family in this new chapter of our life.

you should hide people's predictions to the other guys having to make their choice to avoid too many "unintentional advices" (there's a specific tag to put just before and after the table with the predictions, something like "hide" and \ between square parenthesis, if I remember correctly)

@phelps Personally, I enjoy looking (afterwards) to see what other people think.  This being a game with no value other than fun, if anyone wants to 'cheat', that's on them.

If the posts were hidden, you could ask @Wumo or @Sindo to unhide everyone’s posts right when the Olympics starts, so that people can’t get inspiration while at the same time you can see user’s posts before the events really get underway. Unless you want to see them before that, in that case never mind

yes, that's what I mean

 

once the predicted competition is over, you can make it visible to everybody once again, but before the event is completed, it's better to let people make their predictions without any influence 😉
