  1. According to @uk12points, the English women are but Scotland isn't.
  2. This sounds awful. In the first qualification Tournament only a maximum of two teams per continent can participate (three für one continent, if we include the host). Aside from the fact that I don't like it because it would reduce Germany's chances to a minimum, it also seems objectively highly unfair.
  3. Great, Scotland qualified. One less rival for the Olympic qualifier.
  4. and with quotas in men's 10 metres air rifle.
  5. Quota places for and in Air Rifle Mixed Team.
  6. Doesn't this mean, that in this case the best ranked team will know, that they are qualified, even before the final play-offs start? Because even if they lose their play-off game, they know that they will qualify via World Rankings.
  7. Nope, because in the part that you have quoted they are talking About the qualification Event and not about the Olympics. Directly under "Olympic Qualifying Event" they write, that if Japan wins the Asian Games, seven teams will qualify at the final qualifiers instead of six. Besides, in your Quote they aren't even talking about the next ranked Asian Team in the World Rankings, but about the next ranked team.
  8. I don't know how they could. This time, whoever gets the continental qualification place doesn't even participate in the final play-offs. So South Africa winning the Africa Cup but not using the quota place would mean that they have no chance to take part at the Olympics, wouldn't it?
  9. Depends. If Japan qualifies, it would mean one more quota place at the final tournament.
  10. A NOC is allowed to swap one quota place per gender for another quota place. For example, you can swap a quota place in men's 10m rifle for a quota place in men's trap.
  11. From former Javelin World-Champion Katharina Molitor and Hammer Thrower Kathrin Klaas, fourth in the London Olympics, have retired after the European Championships.
  12. Just to be sure: Even if Wales and Scotland qualify for the World Championships and England doesn't, neither Scotland nor Wales can gain a quota place?
  13. Do you think Sagan could manage it? IMO, it seems a bit too difficult even for him. Though it probably depends who will compete, given that the road race will probably take place less then one week after the Tour de France. Are the courses for the time trials confirmed as well?
  14. The best two mixed teams in each event (rifle mixed, pistol mixed and trap mixed). And it's the only chance to directly qualify a mixed team for Tokyo. Other than that, you can only qualify for the mixed event by having both a male and female athlete in the respective weapon in the individual competitions qualify.
  15. You are missing the mixed Events and also women's 25 metres pistol.
  16. For which Groups is this a qualification Event? The Australia/Asia qualification place will be given in Dressage but not in Jumping/Eventing?
  17. Thank you very much for organzing the contest @Wanderer and congratulations @dunadan for the win in the photo finish.
  18. Very likely not. My guess is something between four and eight, depending on the athletes' shape and a bit on luck. Our best result in recent years were the London Olympics with 9 medals in athletics.
  19. I think there is 0% chance to qualify for Tokyo 2020 in Women's Basketball. They definitely need to qualify for the European Championships to have a chance, and it looks like they won't.
  20. Yes, I still think so. And I will continue to think so, no matter how bad some results will be. And I have seen many bad Championships from german athletes in different sports and none of these changed my mind. And aside from that: Despite some disappointments, which every federation had, I am very satisfied with the german athletes in Berlin. So far Germany has won the most medals, so clearly it couldn't have been all that horrible. Especially compared to Zürich four years ago, which really was a severe disappointment for Germany.
  21. Not the whole Season, but you can watch some of the runs and some of the best throws/jumps both on the sportschau.de and the eurosport.de Websites.
  22. German heptathletes Mareike Arndt and Louise Grauvogel were involved in a car accident on the way from the Olympic Stadium to their hotel and are taken to Hospital. So far, there are no informations about their injuries. Of course they can't compete at the 800 metres.
  23. Gesa Krause in 3000 Metres Steeplechase (though of course it's a comparatively new discipline). It was at the ISTAF in 2017 and is even more recent than Vetter's and Klosterhalfen's records.
