  4. Thank god. it is important. if we can not increase then at least do not decrease. Slovakia the Honduras of winter Olympics. A Male hockey team doing the mini tiny team bigger every time but never able to win that medal...

  6. and now it is Official. Quite funny speech as always from Gary Bettman We look forward to Olympic participation in 2026. “The National Hockey League respects and admires the desire of NHL Players to represent their countries and participate in a ‘best on best’ tournament. Accordingly, we have waited as long as possible to make this decision while exploring every available option to enable our Players to participate in the 2022 Winter Olympic Games,” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said. “Unfortunately, given the profound disruption to the NHL’s regular-season schedule caused by recent COVID-related events -- 50 games already have been postponed through Dec. 23 -- Olympic participation is no longer feasible. We certainly acknowledge and appreciate the efforts made by the International Olympic Committee, the International Ice Hockey Federation and the Beijing Organizing Committee to host NHL Players but current circumstances have made it impossible for us to proceed despite everyone’s best efforts. We look forward to Olympic participation in 2026. “Our focus and goal have been and must remain to responsibly and safely complete the entirety of the NHL regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs in a timely manner. Therefore, with stringent health protocols once again in place, we will begin utilizing available dates during the Feb. 6-22 window (originally contemplated to accommodate Olympic participation) to reschedule games that have been, or may yet be, postponed.”
  7. Samuel Kňažko was named captain of SVK team (unanimously elected by all players) his assistants will be Roman Faith and the 17 years old prodigy Šimon Nemec !
  8. The tournament will have attendance capacity limited to 50 percent. The decision follows the new anti-covid measures in the province of Alberta that introduced capacity limits for indoor sports events. The Canadian Hockey Association informed about it on its official website.
  9. Apparently AHL players will be eligible for the Olympics. so probably a couple of overseas players will be in our Beijing roster then, we have a few players there. but not entirely convinced if they are better than the european clubs based roster
  10. Stage 13 in Courchevel (FRA) Women´s Giant Slalom: 1. Sara Hector 2:13.03 2. Mikaela Shiffrin 2:13.38 3. Marta Bassino 2:13.63 Full Final Results HERE
  11. oh ! come on Wendy ! it is a family show
  12. In other hand suddenly chances for a VERY interesting result increased a lot Still do not see them making the quarterfinals but should very well surprise some opponents
  13. This is more than obvious that there will be no NHLers in Beijing. It is just a matter of hours/days they will announce it officially. I mean, most of European teams are already preparing squads for the games from european clubs players, our team staff already indicated they basically are not longer counting on overseas players reinforcements. Which is quite sad obviously but in other hand (We should send a similar team from the Riga World Champs combined with players from the last two international break tournaments so should be some real unexpected olympics experiences for our young #cortina2026generation talents like Slafkovský and Nemec whom should be part of the Olympic team already at 17 years - would be incredible to play the U18 Worlds, upcoming U20 Worlds, Senior World Champs and Olympics at the same year lol)
  14. So we hired a "professional spy" from Vermont university for this tournament
  15. and the 6th participant will be Bern players selection Frolunda, Kalpa and Slovan in 1 group, Davos, Sparta and that Bern gimmick team in the other group
  16. Stage 13 in Courchevel (FRA) Women´s Giant Slalom: 1. Mikaela Shiffrin 2:15.35 2. Sara Hector 2:16.21 3. Michelle Gisin 2:16.43 Full Final Results HERE

  19. Slovan Bratislava will replace Team Canada at the Spengler Cup. The organizers are now looking for a replacement for Ambri-Piotta who were forced to refuse the invitation at the last moment
