  11. Cycling quotas. http://www.uci.ch/mm/Document/News/News/18/63/12/CountriesthatwillparticipateintheYouthOlympicGamesBuenosAires2018forcycling_English.pdf BMX SVK debut at seniors or youth Olympics
  12. Thanks. Yeah I checked it in the Qualification thread. So 15 from reduced ranking in Street and 15 in Park...gonna be hard for him, I guess. Next year surely there will be a plenty of new names entering the competitions aiming for the Olympics so the ranking will very likely looks totally different. Anyway what´s exactly the differences between Street and Park ? So the guy is competing in Street, I assume from the ranking you posted, correct ? Sorry for silly questions, but I have absolutely no idea about what´s going on at all
  13. wow, so it´s not a fake news then. Great How many will exactly qualify and how many per country ?
  14. A guy from Košice won yesterday a "apparently according to our medias something like a World Cup stage" event in Paris Never heard about him, never heard anything about this sport in SVK and never heard anything about this competition...but local medias are trying to persuade me that he can "has a shot" to qualify for the Olympics in Tokyo.
  15. Also Egil Gjeland became today the coach of the Czech Women´s Team ! The Norwegian will be assisted by his fellow-countryman Anders Magus Bratli, Kateřina Emmons the well known former Olympic shooting star will be the shooting coach. Gjeland will replace Zdenék Vítek who will move as a head coach to the Men´s Team (will be also helped by Bratli as assistant). Gjeland is the first ever foreign coach in Czech National Biathlon team.
  16. Daniel Kuzmin became the coach of the Men´s SVK national team, he´ll be also the personal head coach of his wife Anastasiya Kuzmina and for Terézia Poliaková as well. he´ll be assisted by the Czech shooting specialist Tomáš Kos former longtime shooting trainer of Slovenian team. The Fialková sisters Paulína and Ivona will be coached by Anna Murínová and our former cross-country athlete Martin Bajčíčák. Yes, we will have 2 groups in our Women´s team, the so-called National team coached by Murínová/Bajčičák and the "Kuzmina Team" coached by Daniel Kuzmin and Kos. Both head coaches will however "jointly" led the womens team during the competitions. Also the former Ukrainian Yulia Pustovalova will officially be part of SVK team in the IBU Cups in the upcoming season. The Ukrainian federation and IBU approved her request of change of citizenship. The IBU Cup womens team will be formed also by the young Machyniaková sisters Veronika and Júlia.

  18. Very pleasant and dynamic performance from Morocco tonight against SVK, our players were absolutely not in this match during the whole game, probably thinking already about the holidays, since this was the last match for all of them this season, hardly otherwise to explain the total and lamentable zero focusing, not existing determination and absolutely any interest for the game from our guys. I doubt if anyone in the white jerseys was running at even 50% but still fully deserved win for the Lions of Atlas Herve Renard is one great coach, he´s system is really well working with the Africa players. 20. Salty smiles on the podiums from our C1 guys after "winning" silver in the team event.. but SVK earned at least this one medal at the European Championship...the reasons why only 1 and why the presented performances weren´t satisfying at all will be examined in the next days/weeks and by more erudite experts.. for now we can be happy by at least the continuing of the incredible Michal Martikán´s streak of winning medals from Major events (WCh, ECH and OG) every year since he became member of SVK A team in 1995 !!! So 24th year in arow the guy won a medal from European Championship, World Championship or Olympic Games. His current CV from WCH, ECH and OG : 48 Medals ( 5x OG, 22x WCh, 21x ECh) OG - 2x Gold, 2x Silver, 1x Bronze WCH - 13x Gold, 3x Silver, 6x Bronze ECH - 14x Gold, 5x Silver, 2x Bronze Also the young Marko Mirgorodský earned his first careers Seniors medal, the 19 years old YOG silver medalist and former Junior and U23 world and European champion managed this year to beat Matej Beňuš in the National Trials to finally enter the national seniors team and finished very well in the individual final today missing a medal only by a small mistake and hit in the last parts of the track, but managed to win his first "big" medal in the team event this evening.
  21. That would be certainly huge. She already made it at the Europeans and European Games, the WCh and OG AA Finals are her big dreams, But there still a lot of work to do for her to achieve that. From what I noticed she is a very humble and hardworking girl, but sometimes at big events struggling mostly mentally, but it´s a typical and common issue among Slovak athletes, the lack of mental coaches in our small teams is IMO one of the main reason why our athletes fails often at big events, even if they are very well physically trained and prepared.

  24. Total misery. I have absolutely no explanations for about what happened this weekend. Total failures from everyone. But well, that´s sport, and a very unpredictable sport, once you win and once not..let see what will happen in the next competitions, this was the first season´s true competition after the long national trials and guys came here directly from hard training preparations camps, clearly far from their best peaks. The World Cup will start in two weeks in Liptovský Mikuláš and hopefully we will notice only much better performances from there, plus the main goal of this year is still the world champs in Rio in September, so there still a lot of time for any catastrophic evaluations of the season...however, no doubts that our performance during this tournament was a total fiasco
