First Slovak athletes arrived safely to S. Korea. Our 5 Luge Team members landed earlier today in Gangwon. Today departed our Skeleton participant, on Monday the biggest part of the team will head to Korea as well including the Biathlon, Ski Jumping, Snowboarding, Alpine Skiing and Short Track Speed Skating teams. Last group with Ice Hockey players, Freestyle Ski Cross and Cross-Country Skiers will fly to Korea next week Luge team spending the waiting time in Seoul airport by playing.. obviously football lol

Goal(s) achieved. Best Slov-nation and Top 14 13th place at the end, which is better than last time. Even Top 12 was not so far and with some good portion of luck (which is usually an unknown element in Slovak sport overall) who would have known what would have happened. 5 Games, 3 wins (Twice against Slovenia in the Group and today´s 13th Place Game and against Israel in the 13th-16th Semifinals) and 2 Losses (to the Netherlands and Romania in the Group) So at the end, not great, not bad. Possible to do more I am pretty sure about, but also possible to do worse I fear... so, ok-ish result at the end

So Day 1 (Saturday 20th) streams are out, we already know there will be no Streams for Luge (all sliding sports I guess), Snowboarding (Board Cross for sure) & Biathlon .. so not only it will be in the middle of the night of Europe but there will be no video coverage. Also quite logically the 3vs3 hockey tournament seems not being broadcasted as well, but I guess (hope) at least the regular Tournaments will be... since in opposite of the beforementioned sports it is quite popular also outside of Europe ...

Yes, they have the rights for this, so they show quite a lot of matches during this tournament, I assume they will broadcast also all remaining SF and medal games too.

Less than 24 hours after, IIHF lightened it s decision. is now restriceted only from the upcoming U20 Division III B which was schedulled in Israel but is moved to Bulgaria. The situation about their other teams will be evaluated on an ongoing basis IIHF to provide further clarification regarding the participation of the Israeli National Team in IIHF Championships The IIHF would like to provide further clarification on its recent decision regarding the participation of the Israeli National Teams in IIHF Championships. The IIHF Council decided to restrict the Israeli National Team from participating in IIHF Championships on a temporary basis due to safety and security concerns it had for all Championship participants, specifically including the players and team staff from all participating teams. This decision currently affects the Israeli National Team’s participation in the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division III Group B scheduled to start on 22 January 2024. This event has been originally planned to be held in Israel, but due to already existing safety and security concerns being moved to Bulgaria. The decision is not a sanction against the Israeli Federation and does not affect the Israeli Federation’s status as a full member in good standing with the IIHF. IIHF Council will meet in February to assess the safety situation associated with the March and April Championships in which Israel is scheduled to participate and will meet in March to assess the safety situation associated with the April Championship in which Israel is scheduled to participate. This will allow the IIHF Council the ability to deal with each Championship on a case-by-case-basis taking into consideration the facts unique to each location where a respective Championship is scheduled to take place. The IIHF Council spoke several times with all stakeholders prior to taking this decision and will continue to speak with all stakeholders with the hope that the decision will only impact the Championship scheduled to take place in January. The IIHF stands behind the Israeli Federation and wants to secure the safety of all players participating in its championship including players from Israel. The IIHF Council’s current decision is based strictly on specific facts, including: The teams participating. The number of players who will be participating as minors. The number of people involved in the overall organization of the Championship. The location of the Championship arena being located in a student area with a high population from the affected regions. Expected attendance for home games, where the Championship is expected to draw between 1,000 and 1,500 fans. The size and nature of the multi-purpose arena facility which includes additional ice sheets where other events will be occurring and a large public gym, shops, and restaurants. These public areas are not subject to closure during the Championship. The IIHF completely understands that this is a difficult decision and is being made to prioritize security and safety of all involved parties first. Well, apart of the most important one, world champs where she crashed already in the heats though but, yep definitely a fantastic season for her it was, hopefully the first of many to come I guess it will be between Vlhová and Barteková at the end, Danka had one hell of a year, winning gold at both European and World championship, setting the absolute qualification world record of 125/125 and won the whole season world cup and world ranking. If there anyone able to stop Vlhová´s streak it may be her, but honestly with how Petra is popular here and all she achieved I am persuaded Vlhová will take her 5th consecutive title. the only wonder I have is how high will finish Nela Lopušanová though, she can finish anywhere within this Top 10 and I would not be surprised our journalists and sports experts will vote her even to the final podium if not to the win at the end. In othe rhands a bit sad Marianna Jagerčíková who had a fantastic season in Ski Mountaineering finished just short of 2 points out of the Top 10, she deserved to be among this Top 10 for sure I would say instead of Volko who had a rather mediocre season for his standards.
