It takes money to fund battles, and believe me, the major religions have money. The difference between warfare when religion gets involved and when it doesn’t come down to genocide. Off the top of my head I can only think of about 3 of 25 well known modern genocides that weren’t because of religion. Religion itself isn’t the problem. It’s the people others allow to be the leaders of their faith. To make a point of fairness, ideas cause battles too. It happens when we let our craziest thoughts take the best of us. I am in no way saying that religion alone is responsible for conflict, I’m saying that faith can be preverted and used as a weapon. The exact same thing can happen with ideas.

I think Hitler was a professed Catholic, but he obviously didn’t adhere to that faith (I though Mussolini was religious too?). Though the Catholic Church was very much complicit in the Holocaust. I would imagine Stalin was orthodox, being as the orthodox faith still has power in the region. Though a true communist is supposed to be atheist, so who knows . is actively killing Uyghur Muslims so you have a point there. Again, never said religion was bad. I said it can misinterpreted often, and used as a political tool.

Becuase the Cult or Reason and Reign of Terror weren’t religious or world conflicts, and to be honest no one gives a flying fuck about France until they offer to back you in war .
