  1. Giacomel is sick. I can’t believe what a disaster these Olympics turned out to be for him.
  2. It took just one downhill to know that Italian skis are glued to the snow once again. I'm speechless.
  3. Probabilmente neanche un esorcista caverebbe fuori qualcosa dal gruppo italiano delle discipline tecniche, ma cambiare allenatori con la frequenza con cui li cambiava Zamparini al Palermo non mi sembra una strategia vincente.
  4. I agree, and today's loss definitely isn't the real cause of regret here. Still, specifically because you don't get many chances to capitalize against such an opponent, a mistake like the one Retornaz did late in the 8th end is deadly. I feel like he has consistently underperformed under pressure in these Games, and I feel it has been a bit of an habit in decisive games over the last few years (Italy's track record in the semifinals of major events is quite telling).
  5. Alla faccia di "un po' fuori tema"
  6. This was probably Italy's best performance in the entire tournament.
  7. I have a really hard time to be satisfied with silver, it was really difficult not to win given the situation with 4 laps to go.
  8. I don't know if Sighel had to pay for his show in the mixed relay, but this is a fucking travesty. I have zero interest in whoever wins this clown show.
  9. Are you fucking kidding me? This is a robbery.
  12. Retornaz has missed more easy and decisive shots here than in the rest of his career. The level of our game after the first two games has been beyond disappointing.
  13. My vocabulary is not rich enough to find the words to describe today's Italian relay.
  14. What a chance we blew Our skis were on par with the others for the first time, and we were the absolute worst team of all in the first two legs.
  16. Wierer pulls one of the most obscene shooting sessions of her career and kills the relay once and for all. If Vittozzi did not have the race of a lifetime on Sunday, our biathlon team’s Games would be a failure of epic proportions.
  17. Sweden has a massive chance at gold now, Bened really collapsed
  18. Auchentaller struggling in the standing shooting as well Terrible first leg.
  19. Horrible first shooting by Auchentaller. This first leg is where we are really going to miss Passler.
  20. It feels right that Shiffrin has two Olympic golds in slalom, being far and away the greatest of all time in this discipline. Rast takes silver in spite of hating the slope (And she's 100% right, this slope just does not sui slalom at all; the one they used for the 2021 WCh was miles better) Glad for Swenn-Larsson, but you have to feel for Oehlund, so unlucky
  21. Two medals in cross-country, which was the ceiling I think Pellegrino, who is normally a very tactically savvy skier, lost a chance to get silver when he decided to follow Anger instead of Schumacher, but it doesn't make a big difference.
  22. I don't even expect them to have an advantage because other teams have enough resources to find solutions in all sorts of conditions, but I would at least expect them not to provide the athletes with the absolute worst equipment on the track, bar none.
  23. The French surely had better skis, like in most of the Games, but a decisive turn came when Botn had a horrendous leg, and namely a terrible prone shooting session. Claude lost roughly 45-50 seconds in the first leg, and by the end of the 1st shooting, when he used all three spare rounds, session Botn was already behind Jacquelin (who had an insane first lap, to be honest).
  24. I have to agree with you on this one. In the very first lap, I saw Braunhofer lose contact with the rest of the field in a downhill and overtaken by everyone in the vicinity, and I knew what was coming. At this point, we have struggled with different temperatures and different weather conditions. The only day in which we had acceptable equipment was on Sunday, and even then, Vittozzi seemed to lose time in the downhills, based on intermediate times. Today, with all teams starting together, it was clear our equipment was not just slower than France's rockets — it was the absolute worst of the pack. In Tesero, the cross-country skiing technical staff got everything wrong on the first day, but they fixed things in the following days when the conditions changed. In Antholz, it looks like they have absolutely zero clues on how to make the skis at least acceptable.
