  1. How long will it take to see the timing on screen?
  2. Agreed. And when even in the 4th event judges start to throw laps around randomly, the whole thing becomes a joke
  3. , looking much better, easily beats . is miles better than anybody else though. Fastest time by far, and they obviously didn't have to push until the end given their enormous lead over
  4. I can't believe it, Italian athletes have done nothing but fail at everything for the past few weeks
  5. After the first day and a half of competition, I think the logical assumption is that almost all Italian riders are in terrible form
  6. Italy was sensationally awful. Even Ganna's final km was better than Denmark's, but over half a second slower than New Zealand's. An absolute disaster.
  7. Italian men have decided to turn today into a complete catastrophe.
  8. The elimination in the 4x100 medley is the crowning achievement of what is now officially a disaster. Each of the four guys was absolutely atrocious.
  9. Fiamingo ha thrown gold in the can for Italy.
  10. It looks like she finally packed her stuff and went home.
  11. I hope they just let Kharlan advance and manage to go on without using the red piste, even if it means going long. Smirnova can sit there all week for all I care.
  12. As far as swimming is concerned, Italy's WCs are turning into a complete disaster. With the exception of Quadarella, basically everyone is performing way, way below his 2022 standards. Today has been outright atrocious, starting with this morning's heats.
  13. This is unbelievable. I guess they knew nobody would show up for the opening ceremony if they didn't force people to sit through it in order to watch the finals.
  14. Not even a team of the world's leading scientists could figure out how Ceccon managed to throw this race away.
  15. Well, he has to focus on the Olympics, it makes sense. I read the interview he did with the Corriere della Sera a few days ago and he mentioned the 100m butterfly, maybe he will just go for the longer event. He is probably trying to figure out which individual competition he can add to his 2024 OG schedule. I also think his program will probably change quite a bit in the four years leading to LA 2028 (he doesn't seem too enamoured with the 100m backstroke either, I would not be surprised if he left them or treated them as an afterthought after Paris).
  16. Rossi gets the quota
  17. I'm not saying or implying anything about Turkey/Gumus being dirty, I believe you when you say Turkish athletes were wrongfully defeated in other matches. I'm also willing to give the judges the benefit of the doubt and assume they are just incompetent, at least in this case. But since the incompetence is so widespread, it doesn't make the whole event less of a joke, in my opinion. You could argue I should just stop watching the sport and you'd be right, but I know I won't do it
  18. Serra dominated the bout, even the audience booed the outcome and they were obviously not all Italians.
  19. Boxing should be excluded from the Olympics as soon as possible.
  20. Well, it's one thing to 'know' a referee is corrupt and another thing to be able to prove that he is corrupt. You and I can watch a fight (or several fights) and conclude the referee is corrupt, but that's not how courts work or committees (fortunately, of course).
  21. I haven't seen Charaabi's fight, so I don't know if she was robbed or not. Generally speaking, I don't think boxing refs and judges only make mistakes that could randomly help or hurt anyone. Many of them are outright dishonest and know exactly who they are helping and who they are hurting.
  22. gets bronze and the quota
  23. I think it's very clearly in, though I agree there were equally atrocious decisions throughout the match, and all of them in the same direction. The referee is awful (at best), but the main thing is Uefa willingly decided to go back to a time when referees had much more room to determine the outcome of a match.
