  1. Absolutely, the COJO would have tried for pétanque to draw host attention (and get some more medals)
  2. Ahem, don't know which audiences you refer to but certainly not on television. Also I've barely seen any news about breakdancing and very few about BMX freestyle, though surfing do get way more interest.
  3. French Team for Hochfilzen : Anais BESCOND – ARMÉES Morbier Bellefontaine (Massif Jurassien) Justine BRAISAZ–BOUCHET – DOUANES Les Saisies (Savoie) Chloé CHEVALIER – Les 7 Laux (Sports de Neige du Dauphiné) Anaïs CHEVALIER-BOUCHET – DOUANES Les 7 Laux (Sports de Neige du Dauphiné Caroline COLOMBO – Mouthe (Massif Jurassien) Julia SIMON – DOUANES Les Saisies (Savoie) Fabien CLAUDE – ARMEES Basse sur le Rupt (Massif des Vosges) Simon DESTHIEUX – ARMÉES Lompnes (Lyonnais et pays de l’Ain) Quentin FILLON MAILLET – DOUANES Grandvaux (Massif Jurassien) Antonin GUIGONNAT – ARMÉES Morzine – Avoriaz (Mont-Blanc) Emilien JACQUELIN – DOUANES Villard de Lans (Sports de Neige du Dauphiné) Oscar LOMBARDOT – Entente sportive saugette (Massif Jurassien)
  4. Lithuanian names don't sound utterly difficult to pronounce for me, Polish on the other side could prove to be VERY hard
  5. I was kind of expecting Simon to be the leader of the team since she's shown good consistency throughout last season (even catching a win in the end) and considering Braisaz lack of precision ... also she's not that slow, of course not as fast as Braisaz and others but nevertheless 11th mean speed last season (on par with H.Oeberg and before Tandrevold, Fialkova ...) But her performances so far are quite disappointing, even her shooting fell apart today, which is not what you want to do when your speed is that disastrous. As for A.Chevalier, I was very eager to see whether she could produce Marie Dorinesque performances post-pregnancy. It seems she's in shape and her ability to shoot well is not the most concerning, so maybe the best surprise of the season on the French side
  6. Thanks to the brand new Blue Bib, we can look at the ages of the athletes a bit more closely ... So for the women : 54 point scorers, 14 U25 (96+) within which only one U23 (98+) For the men : 48 point scorers, 5 U25, 1 U23 (Tuomas Harjula )
  7. You can only fall, I've watched too many Scorsese
  8. I'm a bit of a gambler you know But how can you climb up the rankings in the pursuit if you're always first after the sprint ?
  9. Has everyone put Laegreid in his Fantasy Team ? Because I did
  10. So ... which one of these will eventually win ? Face masks or condoms ?
  11. [hide] Nation Captains GER A.Peiffer SWE H.Öberg Nation Women GER F.Preuss POL M.Hojnisz-S ITA L.Vittozzi FRA A.Chevalier-B Nation Men RUS M.Eliseev AUT F.Leitner SLO J.Fak NOR S.Laegreid [/hide]
  12. Benoit Paire for me Feels there's a recurrence here but I can't put my finger on it
  13. Looking forward to it too, though I doubt she will appear anywhere near the top spots (even the points), arguably since there will be no individual. Newt week in the Norwegian Cup also.
  14. Don't know what you mean by "yet" but she's actually due to start her WC career in Hochfilzen (source : an answer to her last IG post)
  15. Bulgaria with more medals than Germany, France and the Netherlands combined
  16. The UEC live timing is indeed quite awful, but at least we will enjoy some TV coverage ... First time seeing a 3-woman team sprint (barring the recent U23 Euro Champ with an oversized track)
  17. They did it in Wellington twice in front of more than 40k
  18. Interestingly, Loana Lecomte was quite a bit faster than PFP, 1:12:43 vs 1:13:24, so maybe we could have had a tighter match in the elite race if she decided to take part (and a tighter U23 one as a consequence)
  19. Il famoso fresh air Shameful is a very judgmental word, we're not bound to take the measures you think we'd have to take ; and nope, yet again, we do have mandatory rules to wear masks in most of the cities (which I personally find stupid, as if wearing a mask in an empty street ever proved to be useful, but that is not the problem here). Same here until mid-may Same here for the training until very late (later than may), yet again a band-aid on a bullet wound, like separate entrances on the pitch in football matches ... with players sharing the same pitch for 90 minutes then And yet lots of Italian athletes performed well in many sports ... Like maybe in ... MTB https://maj.ffc.fr/com/imgadmin/RESULTATS/VTT/2020/fichiers/4893095365_20200808_XCO_U23_et_Elite_Femmes.pdf Lechner 4th in front of PFP ... early August ... maybe because of the light lock-down ... hmm no definitely
  20. Lol What a load of BS We were locked down just like Italy, it was impossible to go out, even in forest or empty areas further than one kilometer from your residence. There were no exemption for high-level athletes (https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/plus-de-sports/coronavirus-pourquoi-les-nageurs-italiens-peuvent-encore-s-entrainer-et-pas-les-francais-1877165.html "In Italy for example, high-level athletes are granted dispensations in spite of the lockdown"). So no, find other justifications please
  21. I'd say likely for Warholm given his constant improvements, guess this race will conclude in season in fashion. As for Crouser the WR could show up at every meet, maybe even more in a "weaker" one, with ONE perfect throw to seal the deal ...
  22. Wtf is that ... 2021 season starting in april ... so more than a full year without any tournament
