  1. I'd take it anyway, please give us your spot
  2. And in spite of it : not in Vancouver, fastforward ... not in Beijing
  3. 4th place for Defayet I personally find it more outstanding than a podium from the . I really do, which is quite concerning to say the least but hey He's gathered a fair amount of points, but it won't be enough I fear ...
  4. The result of the Olympic test is quite positive though, even if it's early season. I mean the whole circuit was there and probably in good form since they had to discover the track and practice it in competition conditions.
  5. Only "a bit" ?
  6. Will be aired live on https://live.lequipe.fr/lachainelequipe/ You need to log in (basic informations) and a VPN. All live except the men's sprint.
  7. Well, your expectations have changed for the better, that's a good sign As for us, really strange two weeks ... somehow good performances in Beijing, then an enormous shape downfall, the whole team just felt completely out of gas, quite intriguing to say the least.
  8. No less than 6 Frenchmen in Inzell this week-end WC qualification time in the 1 500m for 21 y.o Mathieu Belloir and several NJR ... do you think anyone will hear about it ? Of course no, the Ice Sports Federation doesn't give a damn, and L'Equipe, a thousand days from Paris 2024 is too busy wanking over Kylian M'Bappé speaking about his participation to the f***ing olympic football tournament But as we now use to say here "alors peut-être" ...
  9. Same. Also still looking for the Canadian catastrophe
  10. Nope, one cannot just rely on luck in this sport.
  11. French hold-up at the moment Hope it can go all the way ...
  12. 5 teams in the semi-final, you need to finish 3rd ou 4th to get to the B final and guarantee a top 8 (and be in a qualifying spot for the Olympics), you're battling for 3rd place but you have a comfortable lead to at least finish 4th. The team in 4th tries to overtake you in the last lap, what do you do : - let go, you've ensured your qualification ; - make a block, get DQed. If you chose the second option then you're probably French
  13. What a race De Ketele is not ceding anything to Thomas, what a way to end a career
  14. I understand that, but the second call I mentioned is quite appalling when you put it into perspective
  15. Very strong last kilometer but not quite enough, he's got the best instantaneous speed of every athlete at every moment of the pursuit ... on the finish line Maybe on his way to the Hour record forgetting that it's only 4km for today
  16. Still don't get the advancement system ... in the first 1000m heat, Lepape is knocked out two laps from the finish line by Sighel, who's penalized, but the Frenchman is not advanced. I guess that's because he was in third position at the time but he was clearly menacing and could have qualified, even by time staying third (thing we couldn't know as it was the first race but still) In a further race Corey is pushed out by Kim in the second lap, moves from first to last, but as the push was light he stays in the race and one lap later climbs in first again. Then he's just outpaced and finishes last ... but he's advanced
  17. She's not showing any sign of tactical progression But paradoxically, her best achievements are in Keirin, where you would think tactics play a bigger part ... maybe something to do with her gear ratio ?
  18. Will UCI ever consider broadcasting ALL of the World Championships ? Want to see some Keirin ? Right we've got : First round, Repêchages, Second Round, Finals
  19. Lavreysen is a sneaky little ruiner
  20. Seems more complicated than it really is. Moreover, countries able to qualify a relay have no problem earning three individual spots per race, so it seems legit to offer them a 4th/5th spot.
  21. NL under some kind of pressure Upset in the making ?
  22. I'm pretty sure there is no need to worry Looking at the profils of some of the qualified athlete in Pyeongchang, I'd be highly surprised if WC medallists like Sarault do not make the cut.
  23. Reading this makes me feel like this student who's struggling to have decent grades, and hears this other guy (who always get excellent ones) moaning about how he failed last test (spoiler alert : he didn't) Your women's team is basically Kim Boutin and girls whose 500m record is below 43s, which is not an easy feature, with much more experience than what their age could indicate. Charles and Sarault were already on WC podiums 2 or 3 years ago, and Brunelle, although she's still only 17, has reached two top 10 in the last World Champs. Men's team got Charles Hamelin and also Dubois and Dion, the other guys are strong enough to make a relay able to qualify. Not getting all the quotas would be a crime with such a team ... but if you feel they're not experienced enough, send some here to grab it, they all speak French so it won't be hard to adapt I'm quite intrigued by China though. They will not take part to the other 3 WC, so unless all 3 of them reach, at least, the semi-finals in each race, they could have trouble getting full quotas. They're already granted participation in the relays and 1 athlete in individual events, but I guess it has extended to 3 since they've decided not to go abroad
